2002 Drive shaft questionjhromy 08-08-2003, 10:14 AM Hello everyone, I dunno if you all read my previous post about my screeching noise but I'll explain again. When I sift my explorer from Park to Drive in the morning or if the car sits a while there is a screeching noise, and also when I first step on the gas there is a short series of clicks. I have took it back to two different ford dealers and one told me it was a characteristic and the other is telling me it's the drive shaft. They are replacing the drive shaft soon. Can anybody tell me if this sounds like a drive shaft problem? Thanks buymeabmwm3 08-08-2003, 12:33 PM Not having heard the problem I don't really know. Screeching noise could be the A/C belt. But the Ford peeps probably wouldn't mistake that for a driveshaft. Although, flags go up if one dealer says its nothing, and the other wants to replace the driveshaft which is $$$$. I'd say go to a third dealer. Or at the very least, get out of the car while its running and see if the sound is indeed coming from the driveshaft jhromy 08-08-2003, 01:57 PM yeah i figured i'd let them replace the drive shaft and then when they give me the car back ill try to duplicate the noises. Hopefully they won't be there. jhromy 08-18-2003, 12:19 PM well it wasn't the driveshaft so they are going over 20 pages of information to find out what part to replace next vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
