My car sat for 2 weeks, started for 10 seconds then stalled and now still sits...200HPRX7 08-07-2003, 02:59 PM its an 85 dodge lancer es automatic. It got a flat so I let it sit for 2 weeks and then I went to move it and it started for 10 seconds and stalled-hasnt started since then. Its getting gas, has new air filter, and I put new spark plugs in it for the hell of it. Its my delivery car so I really dont want to take it somewhere and pay just to see what is wrong with it. Anybody had any similiar problems? It ran great before it sat. Polygon 08-07-2003, 03:35 PM Possibly your battery? If they sit for long enough they will loose charge. Jump it and see if it works. 200HPRX7 08-07-2003, 04:21 PM naw, battery was still fully charged, but I ran it down trying to start it-then I jumped it-I dont get this problem, It ran fine when I parked it, and then it started up for a second before it stalled, it did rain a hell of a lot for the weeks it sat, but I wd40'd the hell out of all the wires and cap and rotor and bacsically the whole motor. pcv 08-07-2003, 09:56 PM If is is a carburated car, put a screwdriver down the carburator and start it up after you dry the spark plugs. Good luck. 200HPRX7 08-11-2003, 02:46 AM Nah, its fuel injected. I have given up and going to donate it:icesangel vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
