AF's 240sx Forums can suck my balls listTheLogikal1 08-05-2003, 04:09 PM well dorikin stated it, and all us notice it. the once great 240sx utopia has turned into ruins. theres really no one to blame since us veteran posters have been even bigger asses to the newbs, while the newbs are even more disrespectful and stupider by the minute. so here it is, (btw, this post follows the AF guidlines, read'em before posting) the official 240sx Forums of AF can suck my balls list. just go ahead and put the number after whoever posted above you if you agree with what i wrote above .im out of this place. later friends. #1 turbo2nr 08-05-2003, 04:55 PM i agre with you but im stayin for a whil untill my job is over on august 15 then ill stop by once in a while.. yea this place has gone 2 runis #2 1 mynismo 08-05-2003, 05:10 PM don't we have mods??? "oh bo fucking hoo hoo, this place sucks now...." Well stop fucking complaining, and do something about it... When the going gets rough, the rough get going.... All some of you are doing is whinning and crying, back to mommy, it is easier and less work to just leave, rather than to make this a cool place again.. True alot of cool people left, but we have cool people here now, and although there has been a recent influx of assholic shit going down, lets squash it, put it behind us, and rebuild this... (on a side note, i like screwing with noobies and harassing asses like the vettefaggot) So I'm not going to add a number to the end of my post... My cousins boss had a Porsche C4S, and after driving the WRX, I think he went and bought one for himself as a "toy car" lol. Thats a good one, but Ive got a better one for the newbs. Go learn to drive first. Go get an SCCA licnese or go to a track, and learn how to properly drive fast. Most dont have 240s, much less cars. Imagine a new driver getting into an RWD car with no TCS or ABS, or in some cases, manual steering. Honestly, people should get FWD or shit RWD cars and learn how to drive them first enecks 08-06-2003, 06:26 PM Honestly, people should get FWD or shit RWD cars and learn how to drive them first My first car was a 1990 Infiniti M30 that had 82k miles on it when i got it (I think it had ABS, but it definitely had no other driver aids like traction control). Certainly I did all the stupid 16-year old stuff (115mph on the highway, fishtailing in left-hand turns, donut in the school parking lot (I had had a bad day :P)), but I wouldn't condemn all new drivers to a front-wheel drive car simply because they have no experience. I agree that they don't need 300rwhp; the Infiniti had 162 at the crank (so that's probably about 130hp at the wheels, figuring 20% loss through the auto), and that was probably more than I, the testosterone-laden speed-freak 16-year old, needed. But I'm still glad I drove the RWD car first because at least now I know what I'm missing : ). I don't think learning to drive fast around a racetrack would necessarily provide one with the skills for safe driving on normal streets. Yes, racing school would probably teach you how to drive fast safely, but a regular defensive driving school or one of those new car control clinics would probably be just as beneficial to the new driver. Personally, I think distraction is more dangerous to the new driver than having RWD; I was so nervous when I started driving, I think I didn't even turn on the radio for the first three or four months. And now the kids have DVD players and LCD screens and whatnot? Oy... Dorikin 08-06-2003, 07:37 PM The M30 is a big heavy luxo barge though, its not a peroformance car outta the box. BTW props on your choice of first cars, M30s are great enecks 08-06-2003, 08:14 PM Yeah, she was a rather portly stead at 3,333lbs (plus my fat ass). It was actually something of an accident that I got it. I searched and searched for an 80s model BMW 3 series, as that's what I had my heart set on. Of course, most of those bimmers were manual, and my mother strictly forbade me to drive manual for fear that I would stall pulling out of the neighborhood (blind curve). So, having shit luck finding an automatic BMW, I began exploring alternatives. I'm not entirely sure how I began looking for the M30. I know a girl at my school had a white one, the only one I'd ever seen, and I had seen but one M30 ad in AutoTrader. But one fateful day in the summer of 1998, while browsing the now defunct classifieds2000.com as I had so often done, I came across the car I would buy about two weeks later. I emailed the seller, and he promptly responded, sending pictures without hesitation. I was instantly enamored, as the M30 was far more beautful and infinitely sleeker than the boxy BMWs I'd been looking at. And leather interior? Bose stereo? It was overwhelming. I somehow convinced the parents to take the 30min trip to Greensboro to have a look at the car, and a week later, after the car passed muster with out mechanic, it was sitting in the driveway. That was a good day. I kinda miss that car, but I needed something with more room. And now I need something that gets better gas mileage (the Rover drinks 13mpg on the highway!). I'm also ready to get a manual transmission : ). I'm not entirely sure why I didn't buy that 240 I test drove last month. Something just didn't feel right. Oh well. Anyone, who hops in a new car, no matter if it's FWD, RWD or AWD and starts to drive it hard straight away deserves to be shot. Too many people think they can be some insane drifter or racer the first time out. THAT will be the downfall of drifting. Suislide 08-07-2003, 11:15 PM that's kinda why i'm glad i got my Pontiac. it's a crappy old FWD sedan. i had a 240SX earlier, but it was parked and needed too much work to be road-worthy again, which is why i cancelled the deal and got my money back. the Tempest is my first car that i've actually had streetable and used on a daily basis. so i've definitley learned to drive on this thing, but it will still be a big jump when i switch from an FWD push-rod V6 4-door automatic American car to a RWD inline-4 2-door 5-speed Japanese car. i know how to drive stick (since i was 10) and have driven many a RWD before, but driving one every day will take some getting used to. Ssom 08-10-2003, 03:42 AM It's kind of funny this thread- the bitchers and moaners finally realising that they can make this work together. I half-understand what people here are saying about learrning to drive RWD- I spent a fair bit of time in a friends Mk2 Ford Escort 1.1- now THERE is one hell of a fun way learning to drive RWD- and when my dad had a BMW 330i for a while I learnt a lot in that- even though it was riddled with computers. Anyway last Friday night for the first time in ages I go back to RWD when a made lets me drive his recently acquired R32 Skyline GTSt- and it was a doddle- really- I mean even coming from driving a cruddy RWD and a Computerised RWD- the GTSt was no different- a little ass-heavy- but thats only because they are crappily-engineered turds-on-wheels. My point is- that most cars from the 60's and 70's were RWD- pick yourself up a scrap-yard special- head off to a near-by paddock and LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I personally feel I am ready for my 200SX- all I need now is a shit-load more money :( This forum can be improved- if the Techs remain- help the n00b's in spite of how annoying they are- send them in the right direction- fic thier wrongs and try and reman friendly- YOU make the forums- the forums don't make themselves:bigthumb: and you can make these forums much better than what they are- just by helping!!! dayna240sx 08-10-2003, 12:14 PM Originally posted by SR20DETpower WTF!!!!!!!!!
