Hey its about time to get all my side trim painted... mirrors, door handles, side panels, and side skirts. Now one of my sideskirts is damaged so I need to get new side skirts. I figure I will just try and get some milano red Si side skirts instead of getting stock HX ones and having to paint them. So my question is where do I go to get OEM Si side skirts? i searched on the internet and didnt really find anything. And do you think that it will look fine with Si side skirts on it, like will their be a noticable difference in paint shade? Any suggestions is great, thanks!

Try www.hondaautomotiveparts.com They should have em. The paint should match fine.

Krylon, 220 grit sand paper, and about 2 hours of sanding prep work. Cost? About $15 for supplies. ;)

That's how I did mine, did them myself, and after over 2 years, not a single chip or flake in the paint I used on them.

see the thing is that my left side skirt is broken. I need to replace it, so i figured i would get a set of milano red Si's instead of just replacing the broken one and having a shop paint it. So i dont know what to do.... the place im getting my car painted gave me an estimate of like $500 or so. What should I do?

for starters look for a skirt on a junkyard car... then do it yourself... doing the work yourself should be half the fun

how am I going to paint all the side trim myself? I'll end up just messing it up and it wont match right...

See my sideskirts, front lip, and my grill in the pic below? I painted ALL of them myself. It's actually easier than you think. The side trim might be harder, but I wouldn't recommend painting that as a body shop once warned me that even the paint they use won't stick well to the rubber the trim is made out of. Buy an OEM replacement black skirt, and paint them up yourself. That's what I'd do at least.

I like that front lip, is that the type-r? What did you use to paint the side skirt and front lip?

and on the site you gave me matt, for $178 there is the flamenco black. Is that the one i need? Like is it like the stock one I already have (like unfinished plastic basically)or is it like going to be painted black?

It'll be painted black. www.hondaautomotiveparts.com should have the UNPAINTED ones for cheaper. Flamanco black was the black color that you could get Civics and the Si coupe in.

The lip I have is a Type-R style, and I painted them the same way I suggested above. Wet sand them down till light gray with 220 grit paper, then clean them off from any particles or dust. Then start painting with your paint of choice. NO LESS than 6 coats would I do, maybe like 7-8 would be good. Then about 4-5 coats of clear coat with the final being a real thick coat. That's all there really is to it.

thats the site that B16EJ1 gave me, they dont have any of them. Anyone else know of places that sell unpainted OEM side skirts? And if I do decide to paint them myself how do you reccomend choosing a color that will match right?

Parts Trader (http://www.thepartstrader.com)

You could probably find someone's old sideskirts on there for cheap. I painted my sideskirts Milano Red and they came out great. I found colored matched paint at autozone in two little cans.
