Hi,

Please give me some idea, I cannot start the car.
NEON 95 Fuel Injected. My accord never gives me this problem of course... . Anyway, the problem is this:

We were driving, all the sudden car stop working. We crank it, it cannot start. I have checked the followings:

spark ( YES )
spark plugs
distributor,
fuel injectors..

It cranks, but it cannot start. I have no idea what to do. I don't think its the alternator or the starter. Please give me some idea. I went to the junkyard, and bought the computer unit, and replaced it , same problem: cannot start. It will cranks, but will not start.

if ur getting spark then u should check if u r getting fuel. if ur car had a valve on the fuel rail u could connect a fuel pressure gauge to check fuel pressure. if no fuel pressure then u have a bad fuel pump or bad fuel pump relay if it had one. one more thing u could do is take of the air box housing off the throttle body. then get a can of throttle body cleaner and have somebody crank the engine ova while u spray into the throttle body. if the engine started then dies out then u probably not getting fuel. then u probably need fuel pump(most likely) or pump relay if the car had one.

Scatch!

"My accord never gives me this problem of course..." Of course...

First, the Neon doesn't have a distributor.

Second, check your cam sensor, fuel pump relay, fuel pump, crank position sensor, timing belt... I think that's about it. Good luck.

Hi, thanks for the help guys. On the neon, there is the fuel rack with a little push area. When I push it, the fuel pours out, so I think I have fuel. I see the cran sensor, but when i took out the 4 screws, a piece of plastic comes off. Do I take the whole block out? Cause its stuck inside the engine. Can you tell me where where the timing belt is located?

Sparks/ Fuel are there, I think.

The timing belt is on the left side of the motor (when you are facing it). Look just to left of your valve cover you will see a little panel with a 10mm or so bolt on it. Behind that little cover you can view the timing belt. To remove the whole cover requires jacking up the car and removing the side motor mount and the crankshaft pulley.

Also check for codes to see if you can pinpoint the real problem. Heres how:

Go to the autoparts store and get the Haynes manual for 95-99 Neon. It will become your best friend :D

Scatch!

You're talking about the cam sensor. The piece of plastic is the sensor itself. (There is a plug attached to the plastic, right?) The part inside the engine is the cam itself.
