i was talking about throwing a 20b in my 7 when my friend mentioned putting two 13bs together. the next day i find a beat up RX-7 for sale the body is beat up bad but still driveable (like someone tried to drift and hit walls on both sides) but the engion is CLEAN it only has 129k miles on it the car is an 89 and they only want $600 obo i think i can pick it up for 400
so what does everyone think?

the general consensus is no, can't be done. But with money, anything can be done. You're talking about a new custom eccentric shaft, new dowel pins, new everything that goes the length of the rotor. Plus, when you get past a certain amount of torque, the eccentric shaft starts to flex and twist.

It's possible, but only if you're independently wealthy.

the eshaft is a major problem but it can be corrected with a support in the middle where the 2 sections meet (thats how mandeville autotech has always done it). It is definitely not a do it yourself project.

I'm sure this idea has already been thought of... but if you can make a 4 rotor uut of 2 13b's.. how about a 6 rotor out of 2 20b's? it would probably need a lot of customization to the engine bay to fit it.. but it wounds like a recipe for high hp and something new

the ecentic shaft woudl have to be a billit titanium piece with bearings as oftne as possible then it would still twist and snap most likely. But damn if it worked.

A 20b will make more power than is streetable anyway so why reinvent the wheel?

SWEET! my friend just started a metal working class and he told the teacher about putting two 13b engines together and he is hella into it. they have 3 cnc machines and a cnc lathe and he is gonna help us try and make the adapter that they made at granny's. i will post our progress
