I think I read that the gas light comes on when you only have about 1 gallon left in your gas tank. One gallon should be able to get anyone to a gas station.

so that's like 20-27 miles depending on if you are driving on city or highway roads.

what you should do is... **gasp**
fill up when the light comes on so you know how much gas you have used to that point...
then subtract from what the manual says you have when full... do the math.
mine comes on with almost 4 gallons, which for me is over 100 miles... but it is a 3gen lude...
that should help the most

Yeah.., my light comes on at about 1.5 gallons left in the tank... or about enough to go 40 to 50 more miles... depending on how hard I am pushing the car...
I have gottten as little as 280 from a tank.... and as much as 440....
