1G. Lighter and faster , better engine and turbo. Its a no-brainer.......

I agree with RockinWRX, but the 2gs aren't bad if you don't like the looks of the 1g.

dsm are fast cars.. spend 5'g into one and you will hit mid-12's to low 13's easily.

Try 1-2gs. A boost controller and free mods = 13s.

i would go along wit RockinWRX and LandoAWD. The 98 GSX around where i live cost alot tho ($14k-$19k used). 1g has the better engine, but would it be harder modifying the 1g or the 2g?

They are about the same, as the engines are almost identical. The 2g may not hold up to mods as well when bigger clutches and more power are applied, as they tend to crankwalk. Darn 7 bolts.

There is also a lot more space in the 1g engine.

I must have made a wrong turn into the honda forum....

I went 12.8 at 106 on a lightly modded 2g. Cost me 1800, and that even includes the cost of the palm pilot for my logger  A 1g can go 12s with some mas hacking, exahust, a pump, and a boost controller... This is all on real gas naturally... Leon R put a tee in his wastegate line and ran 13.9, FWD. Dont try that at home, but you see my point.

Yup. Spend 5G's judiciously on a 1 or 2G ( no body kits or rims , but decent tires maybe ) and you should be able to get 10's .

5g on a DSM engine would prolly hit 11s or 10s.....prolly risking the engine. Cant u hit like....high/mid 13s wit like FULL cat-back, exhaust, and boost controller?

Fuel pump , catback exhaust , and a boost controller , S-AFC (blue face). Pretty much what I had on the ole Eclipse , and I could just barely push a flat 13 . Get into fuel tuning a little deeper and you can run low 12's on the stock IC and turbo. Its been done by the local DSM club guys .

Meh. You can get LOW 12's for about $3000 , depending on if you spend money smartly or not.

And your GS was caused by a broken condom. The best part of your GS ran down the crack of a GSX's ass..... :loser:

When you get a real car , you can talk shit , OK? ............ :thefinger

1g is better for one reason. Its cheaper. So the average guy will be able to go faster on a 1g. The weight difference can be worked out, and whatever parts a 1g has better than a 2g either get replaced or can be swapped anyway. . The number 4th fastest AWD is a 97 and its only 3 tenths behind shepperd (#2). So its not that 1Gs are mysteriously faster. They are cheaper to make faster so the average guy can do better for a given amount of money. For the record

Damn, I'm still #88.... lol
