My previous post was in error. I'm referring to the LT5 in the ZR 1 corvette. Could you put the bottom end of that motor in a first generation block and just resleeve it to a 3.9 inch bore?

You do know that the LT5 isn't related to any other GM small block, right?

The engine as a whole is not my concern. All I want to know is can the crank be placed in a first generation block. If it can, the rods and pistons can be made to work. I don't want the cam, lifter, or head system from the LT5. Just the crank. What I want to know is can it work or not? I ask because I don't know #%^& about corvette, gen II, or any of the new fancy stuff put out. I want to build a 3.66 in stroker in a gen I block. One that will cube out to 360 or damn close. It's a racing thing. I ask you guys cause you know these engines and I don't. Can it be done?

just get a custom crank, it'll be easier, and will hold up better than what your asking.

I'm fairly sure that LT5 parts are not compatible with the other 5.7L (or any other size, for that matter) Chevy V8s. The DOHC LT5 is a ground-up engine designed by Lotus (and manufactured by Mercury Marine). Even though the displacement may be similar to the Chevy small block, the engines have nothing physically in common.
