To buy or not to buy: '95 M3C-Bear 11-22-2001, 03:24 AM A family member is selling his '95 M3 (to upgrade to an '02) and I'm considering buying it. He has kept the '95 in immaculate condition with meticulous upkeeping, but the car has accrued 100,000 miles and that concerns me. What can I expect of a well taken care of '95 M3 with this kind of mileage? I've never owned a BMW before, what can I expect in terms of maintenance and insurance (I currently drive a Honda Accord)? Any thoughts, ideas, or opinions on whether or not I should make this purchase? Help from knowledgeable BMW drivers is greatly appreciated. b0rf 11-25-2001, 01:40 AM How much is he asking for the car? I get quotes of only $14k on it... (for trade in value... i suggest not buying any used car over trade in value) So if it can be had for that, then sure it's a good deal. If he's a family member and has had no trouble with the car, then sure. does he race the car or has he? have you driven it yet? have you ridden in it? If you have the cash, i would suggest looking for a less used one. i have a '98 4 door w/ 37k miles myself :) vuugti 03-17-2002, 10:50 PM If you've never owned a Euro car, expect to spend considerably more for maintenance, especially at that mileage, normal wear items will start to go. Nothing major, but be ready to accept some healthy bills. However, you will be greatly rewarded for these efforts. If the car's in good shape, don't worry. 100K on a Bimmer is nothing. These things wrong strong and right for 225K easy. Take it to a BMW mechanic for an independant evaluation, work it from there. Price??? They go for 15K to 20K for that year and mileage. All based on records and mechanicals as well as appearance. Nothing against a Honda, but there is ZERO comparison, They run like refrigerators, and that's ok, cause your fridge must run every day, right. gHeTtOAZNbOi206 04-19-2002, 01:04 PM how much is exactly the mantinance for this 95 m3. i dont know much about bwm so i'm kinda curious. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
