2000 Stratus - HELP Rattles over rough patchessmilely614 07-21-2003, 09:20 AM I've taken my car the the dealer three times already and they cannot seem to find the problem; maybe someone out there has had the same problem. I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus. It seems that any time I hit a rough spot I hear some sort of rattle or clank and sometimes can feel it on the steering wheel. It will not happen when I am moving at low speeds or on smooth roads. The noise can get quite intense at very high speeds, like on the highways when on curves to the right or left. When I can get the noise to happen consistently, if I jerk the steering wheel to the right or left it aggrivates the sound. Can anyone help? Polygon 07-21-2003, 01:31 PM It could be the CV joint, the wheel bearing, or the strut. I would take off both front tires and inspect all three if you can. fleyba 11-03-2003, 03:08 PM My 95 Stratus was making the same kind of racket. It turned out to be parts of the plastic shroud that enclose the front shaft. I ended up cutting out part of the shroud to make more clearance in that area. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
