It comes from the Dupont Red Spectra color selection number 911. Just ask for RS 911 and any Dupont paint jobber will be able to mix it for you. 2 My second choice would be Corvette Torch Red, if you check you will see that GM went back to Torch Red again this year for the 2010 Corvette Z06 and Corvette Grand Sport. It is such a popular red. 3 Another Red that is almost identical to Torch is Viper Red. They will both draw you to the car at a car show and you will find yourself saying, Wow now this baby is Red. I don't know what it is, I have been painting cars since 1963 and I can go to a car show and look at cars all day then come across a red car that just draws you to it because of the shade of the red. Over 90% of the time if you ask the owner it will be Torch Red or Viper Red. 4 My all time favorite red is (Candy Brandywine) House of Colors if you can afford to have it applied. I have painted many of them in my day but at todays prices you have to get over $10,000 to paint one of them. With all of this being said, just go to a Dupont paint jobber store have them mix you a 1/2 pint of Dupont RS 911, paint a large test panel, spray a clear coat or two on it and take it out in the sun and say (Wow) he was right. That is a nice red. :) Happy Painting vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
