In the market for a 2001 7 series. I want to get the sport series but only the 740i seems to have the 3 spoke M steering wheel. Also, I think only it has stiffer springs. Any other differences?

hey there, i actually driven a 2001 740i sport as my 1st car, there are plently of differences. it does have stiffer shocks, or sport suspension, also the sport comes with 5-spoke parallel 18-inch M wheels, a performance computer chip which boosts the HP by 10 HP, but maintenance plans r the same, and such, i believe the package also includes bi-xenon headlights, and smaller steering ratios. i say its a great car, the best of the 7-series. heres a pic if u would like 2 see the 740i sport

yes, i'm close to getting one. I'm also thinking of adding 19" rims. Also, I see "highline" and "shadowline" in ads. So you know what they are?

im sry but i dunt kno wut those highlines and shadowlines r... if its a term, them i dunt kno...............jeeze, i need 2 "get out more"

The shadowline is the shadowline trim around the doors/windows. On non-sport BMW's, there's chrome trim, the shadowline trim however is just plain black to give the car a more sporty appearance. Go onto ebaymotors and look at both a sport and non-sport bmw of the same model and you'll see the difference.
