it is a engine that honda produces. it costs around 1,200-3,800/4,000.
this is for a b16a1-b16b. this motor can be found in a 99-00 si(u.s), 94-97 del sol dohc vtec(u.s/japan), 92-95 sir2(japan), 92-95 ferio(japan),88-91 civic/crx(japan),integra xsi(japan),97-00 civic type r, 96-00 civic hatch-some models(japan). there are probably more that i forgot.

the engine you are hearoing about is most likely the B16a, not the B


if you get a 2ng gen teg or a a CRX thee you can have a B16a sir1 complete swap for 1200 bucks.

it produces 160HP, if you get the sir2 JDM it is 170HP but comes with hydro tranny and would be good for a 5th gen civic or a 3rd gen teg. vcost is about 1800

the B16b is the ctr and produces 185hp, revs higher, comes with a clser ratio trans i think.

actually it costs around $2200 and up for the complete swap. the $1800 is just the motor tranny and ecu.

Probably the main reason you hear so much about it is because it is one the main platforms import enthusiasts use for their cars, it puts out decent power, and its strong enough to handle forced induction.

this is one of the highest revving motors out there. in both stock and modded form. ooooohhhhh:bloated: i have heard b16a's rev to 11k. ouch!

they also have a near perfect rod to stroke ratio which allows it to rev that high.

Hell ya it is, yesterday I hit the limit on my VX tach, and keep it in the red to 95.:bigthumb:

No rev limiter? What did you build the head with? I reved my shit to 85 and got a little worried.:22yikes:
