GPS question regarding Pocket PCsO1SalsaX 11-15-2001, 09:54 PM I have a Compaq Aero 2180 w/ 32 meg, running Windows CE 2.11 (Watered down Ipaq).. I have the Magellan Tracker with the PC cable. I wanted to know if anyone knew of any mapping software for windows CE or Pocket PC with GPS capability. I checked out Delorme Slous Pro 1.5 and it is only for WinCE 2.0 and they even said themselves that its a crappy, buggy program, dont waste my money on it. So, Im looking for alternatives. Thanx for any help Ken OffroadX 11-15-2001, 11:43 PM There's some discussion about this sort of thing on the Voy board right now. Allen/Xterrafiles seems to know something about 'em. Brent O1SalsaX 12-07-2001, 07:03 PM I found a great program for my Compaq that will use ANY GPS. check out.. http://teletype.com I'll be ordering it next week, hopefully. It gives you full street mapping, With voice directions if you want. You can remap your destination if you make a wrong turn. This gets even better.. It has a full topographical feature where you can actually use your GPS on a topo map in scale. In addition to using a topo map, you can use a shaded relief map or EVEN Airiel(sp?) photographs. checkout..http://terraserver.com its $95 and includes all of that and the serial adpater to plug the GPS into the Compaq Ipaq, leaving your Compact flash card slot open for a memory card to store all of your maps.. It kix major ass.. I'll hopefully get mine soon. I'll write a review of it after I use it.. L8r, Ken vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
