I have a 94 seville sts and it will not change out of first, it has some surging when idleing in park. I tried to get the trouble codes and I get about 10 history codes but the start with PO34. I cant find any codes that start with a P anywhere. Thanks Michael

:screwy: I have a 95 SLS that is doing the same thing, will not upshift from 1st. I have heard it could be related to a possible ingnition switch problem (worn out). Anyone else experience the same thing???

I think I had the same problem, 95 SLS, I had the trans rebuilt, and continued to have various problems. Turns out there was a wire that shorted out in the trans. Didn't find out if this was the problem all long, or just an additional problem. In any event, stay away from Cottman.

My problem ended up being the shift solenoids inside the tranny. $100 in parts and a couple hundred for labor and I was back on the road. The onboard message center nailed the error codes down to the solenoids. When the shop dropped the pan that was the only problem.

Is Your Battery Good Remeber That Those Tranny Are Electric And If They Do Not Have Enough Power They Wont Shift.

I Was At The Store When I Started By 91 Seville Just Fine And Drove Down The Street It Would Not Shift Out Of 1st. I Had It Towed Home

I Decided To Put In A New Battery Because I Had No Tranny Problems Before.that Fixed It.

I just had the same problem with my car. I drove around in 1st gear for 3 months. Nobody would touch it. So I got onto a forum and started researching. I checked my codes and it was po29, the solenoid a and b. I did the job myself. It took me 3 and a half hours and mind you. I'm a women and have never worked on cars. I got some good directions.
