Just wondering if anyone knows how to get your lights to go off at night? I have a 1998 4 door blazer LT...it has the automatic lights that come on at night but I was just wondering if there was any way to overide this function?

On our 99 Tahoe I would push the parking brake down one click. That kills the running lights. Comes in handy when running from the local P.I.G.S :rofl:

Hello;
This is how it works on my 99 S-10 Blazer, First push the emergency park brake down just until your little red light comes on in the instrument panel,this wont hurt anything. this will shut off the daylight running lights and your regular headlights wont come on untill you turn them on manually . If you want the auto lights to work just release the park lever

Don
P>S after dark,to keep the lights off at night, you have to set the park brake untill the red light comes on then shut off vehicle, then restart, they wont come on untill you turn on manually or release the park lever

Seriously, just get in the fuse box and yank the fuse. Why bother with the emergency brake and all that when you can completely get rid of the "problem." I did this in my '98. This completely nullifies your Daytime Running Lights (which looks better, imho, 'specially since I have headlight and taillight blackouts). If you're a "safety nut" you still don't need them, just turn your regular headlights on. It lets you know if you leave them on, so there's no problem. I installed a set of fog lights, and if it's raining or something, or around dusk, I'll just flip the swich under my dash. DRL's serve absolutely no purpose when you could just turn your headlights on, especially since you guys seem only to notice them at night. They don't even turn your rear lamps on! Call me crazy, but I even pulled the fuses on my airbags 'cause I don't like the things. I have to look at the indicator light on the dash, but I'd rather that then the thing going off unexpectedly, or in the event of a crash doing more damage to me than I would've suffered without it. Aw, fuck it. I am crazy. I don't even wear a seatbelt 'cause I think it's more dangerous that way. I don't wanna be strapped in a burning metal molotov cocktail. :screwy: :banghead:
