Can I install a Keyless Remote on my 98 Jimmy?

I called my local GMC dealer and they ran my vin# and told me that my jimmy isnt equiped with a keyless entry module. They also told me that it would just be cheaper to get an aftermarket keyless installed. But i've seen a GM keyless module and remotes for real cheap on Ebay. I was wondering if it was more or less a plug+play kind of deal (an easy in stall) The part # for sale on ebay is 15042968 ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2420474647&category=42606&rd=1 ) My truck is a 98 Jimmy 4dr 4x4.

do you have power windows and door locks? if so, it shouldnt be that hard to add keyless entry. though I'm not sure how hard it would be to install it. I do know that if you buy an aftermarket keyless entry kit, it should come with everything you need and instructions for the install.

You can add a keyless entry to you Jimmy. My friend has one and he has keyless. I guess they installed it for him pretty cheap. So i shouldn't get into your wallet that bad. :wink:
