2001 keyless entry

i recently bought a 2001 chevy blazer...it didnt come with a keyless entry system but i got the control module with the remote that goes with it out of my buddy's wrecked 01 blazer... i put the control module in (the wiring harness was already present) and now i need to know if anyone can tell me how to get it to work...i know there is some trick to get it workin that the dealership wants to charge 50 bucks for ...any help will be greatly appreciated...

the last time i talked to a dealer about keyless entry, i was looking into getting a new remote. they wanted to charge $50 for the remote and another fee for programming it. druing past problems i've had with my blazer i've notice that if there is an option available for the truck but the truck wasnt installed with that option, they left the fuse out of the fuse block for that option. so you may want to look at your fuse block to see if there is a fuse there.

I too also have a 2001 Blazer, but this Blazer came with two remotes. One working and one not working.

I wanted to know just how I go about programming the one that is not programmed/working. Also, maybe the other one that is not working is broken. Where would I go to buy another one..... and not the Dealer? :smile:
