Grandson's 20-04 300M and she died in flight. OBD Coded a 0562 and 700. Battery voltage good and she cranks but will not fire. Since she is dead in his driveway cannot do to much so I would guess a bad alternator to start but need to figure out how to check that on a dead machine. 700 is TCM and I would hope that would not shurther down. She has fuel but no spark. Where she would go next?

Autoparts stores can check alternators for free. Even alot of mom and pop alternator shops can test it. The codes lead me to believe yes the alternator is bad since the battery code. But it also depends on the battery, its age and the volts it has. A good battery should be around 12.5-12.8 volts. Use a multimeter to test the voltage on the battery.

If they have a multimeter, they can check the alternator output themselves.
