I need help!

My Mom's 96 Honda Civic won't start. She drove it very little over the last year. However, before she stopped driving it....the belts, the battery and all maintenance type stuff had been done.

About 2 months ago, she went out to start it and there was nothing. The problem seemed to be a dead battery. We've since replaced the battery and still NOTHING.

I think it's something to do with the alarm system and that there may be a killswitch at play here....I just don't know how to disengage it.

Does anybody have any ideas? I know it must be something simple....I just am not seeing the cause. If I can't get it fixed, I'll have to tow it to a dealer and I can't afford all that.

HELP!!!!!

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

get up under the dash and look in there, but before doing that remove any panels that might get in your way. once you do that look for the starter wire coming from the steering cloumn. you will have to remove the cover that is right under the steering wheel and look to the left. you will see about 5 or 6 wires that are coming from the white plastic piece on the end of the ignition piece. just follow the blk/wht wire or the blk/yel wire (not sure which one) until you find a relay thats in between the wire. once you find it disconnect it and when you do that you will notice that the starter wire will now be cut in half. just re-attach the two ends and you should be all set if the starter kill was keeping the car from starting. if this isn't you problem check the starter.
