hey when starting with a rx 7drews 06-21-2003, 07:21 PM hey when starting with an rx-7 with high miles, what should you buy first to improve the engine from blowing up? ac427cpe 06-21-2003, 08:01 PM what year is the car? drews 06-21-2003, 11:40 PM 93 tt ac427cpe 06-22-2003, 02:50 PM how many miles are on it? and how has it been taken care of/driven drews 06-22-2003, 06:31 PM it has about 70k miles, and in a pretty good condition rxtacy 06-22-2003, 11:35 PM with that kind of mileage, you shouldn't expect to get more than 10,000 miles more out of it until you need a rebuild. it may already need a rebuild. but if you really need to extend the life, don't push it hard. warm it up properly, get a turbo timer, and even turn down the boost if you can. drews 06-23-2003, 12:08 AM SO SHOULD I BUY IT OR SHOULD I JUST LEAVE IT ALONE dayna240sx 06-23-2003, 12:08 AM Yeah, your pretty much SOL at this point... Just save up for a rebuild. rxtacy 06-23-2003, 01:04 PM if you can save a few thousand over a year, you can handle it, but you will end up putting a few thousand more into it. if you're short on money, then i say don't do it. drews 06-23-2003, 01:51 PM what other car should i get rather then the rx-7, i want cheap, fast, and stylish? dayna240sx 06-23-2003, 04:06 PM cheap, fast, stylish? Get a 240sx  drews 06-23-2003, 05:47 PM yeah i had that in mind, how much is that? dayna240sx 06-23-2003, 11:27 PM They range from $250 to $20000, depending on year, mileage, and mods. With the 240sx, insurance will be alot cheaper than a third gen, you can either turbo the KA (stock) engine, or there are many swaps you can do. (SR20, RB25DET, 13B, etc...) drews 06-23-2003, 11:40 PM are they hard to find? i heard that they were ment for the ladys when they were first introduced! dayna240sx 06-23-2003, 11:45 PM Some of the S14's are getting hard to find... or atleast to wrestle them away from their owners...
