I was reading autotrader.com about my 1999 Honda Civic Dx I saw the 5 speed Manual (what i have) and it said it is has over drive. Now how do you get a 5 speed Overdrive. There are no botton to cut it on so does it do it by it self or what. And how does that work

well first off 5th gear is considered overdrive, so if they said 5 speed WITH overdrive then it is a typo............so now you know...

If you car was an automatic then it had overdrive. You should check out more things on the web and start learning about yoru car.

I know about my car and I dont drive no damn Auto I would go to sleep. I know most auto have overdrive. It said that the 5sp had overdrive also

what they meant is that the first 4 gears are reasonably close ratio for normal driving... 5th is intended as a highway overdrive gear and usually is not as close of a ratio

i see. I am dont dislike auto My mom drives one it just that when I drive it. there is nothing to do I just seat there hit the gas and think about other thinks then I get sleepy. but hey when I am tryin to eat a big mac and drive I wish I had a auto

I dislike auto very much and think if your tuning a car thats an automatic ur gay:thefinger Whats the purpose of having a nice car thats an automatic, unless ur all show! "manual is cooler" lol that and they are 10 times as more fun and faster. I would NEVER own an automatic unless i lost both of the my legs or sometihng and the only way i could drive would to be to drive an automatic. i have a 97 ex automatic. does it have overdrive? i looked in the owners manual and found nothing about it. and there's definitely no button or anything.

sometimes its above drive, its a D with a circle around it

Hey smart ass im saving up for an engine swap to go in thus spring... what do you have an auto EX? ive beat 2 automatic EX's before easily. Unless you have an engine swap then yeah its faster but i could care less my standard is a hell of a lot more fun to drive:thefinger

Here's a reason to hate autos, weak cams and lame tranny's add to that Horrible factory shift points.

I dont look down on someone who has an auto if its modded ... i do however look down on my friend who has a stock 03 corolla le auto and is always racing people and shit and im like "do something to your fucking car! put a system in it, lower it, do some mods, but quit thinking that your stock ass car is tight or unique!"

I was taking a poke at the fact that you posted you have a turbo with a BOV and an intercooler, pretty standard equipment on any turbo.
