I have never had a problem starting this car. I drove it into work today and after work, it would not start. The starter is turning but it wont start. After about 6 times cranking it, it finally started. Drove it home without any problems. I parked it in the garage and have cranked it about 10 times and it will not start. I am draining the battery trying to get it to start.

I have never let it run out of gas. Last week it got pretty low, probably about 1/8 or less of a tank. It has 53,000 miles on it.

Any ideas?

Could it have gotten some water in the tank? You might want to put in some dry gas and see if that clears it up. At least thats a cheap fix if thats your problem. Take a look at the alternator as well. Make sure its dry and all the plugs are on snug.

Check plugs, wires, coil, and starter wires.

Check the distributor housing for cracks, then check the unit it's self. You might want to do that in the dark so you would know if you're getting spark.

If you're still trying to start it, hook the battery to a charger while you do so it doesn't die also (12 volts 10 amps at least).

Make sure your fuel pump it working correctly, sometimes they just break.

Like YogsVR4 said, you could have water in the gas tank. It wouldn't hurt to drain the tank and put new clean gas in it with some injector cleaner in it also.

Check the fuel filter for clogs, and everything Self said to check.

You didn't say you smelled gas, so I wouldn't think your fuel lines are cracked.

Hope it works out though...
