buying del sol questions???Import_fantasy 06-18-2003, 02:30 PM  I plan on buying any del sol 92-97 s or si and was wondering what year would be best for a b18c5 swap. Which year is easiest for the swap. And what modifications are needed for the swap. And what a gutted del sol would run with just this motor. Any information would help. b16a3sol 06-19-2003, 03:48 AM i say if all you want is an empty car with a motor in it to go fast, get a 93 s. it has the least options, which means less stuff to have to pull out later on. as for the swap, i think every year is around the same difficulty level. about what times to expect, that could vary. are you going to leave the motor stock, have basic bolt-ons, or are you going to build it for NA or FI? if you want it stock, i would expect times around high 14's, if you change the wheels out also (those s wheels are tiny). thats with a car that is basically a shell. build the motor, and you have no where to go but faster. b18c dx 06-19-2003, 08:10 PM if your really set on a b18c5 then you need to get an OBD II del sol, becuase i think all of the type R motors are OBD II and if you get and OBD I sol, then your gonna need to buy a jumper harness on top of a pricey motor. there is no differece except the OBD difference as in difficutly of the swap, you can use ur motor mounts on ne of the B series blocks. and like b16a3sol said, if you wanna build a track monster go for the S, least amount of options = less wieght. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
