The regular Mitsubishi Lancer doesn’t look all that appealing, but I don't know about how everybody feels. I was thinking about getting a regular Lancer, and trying to transformer it to a Lancer Evo VII. Is this possible? How much will it run me?

It will cost you A LOT just for the AWD conversion (got this info. from others in this forum). Otherwise, it will run around 15 to 30 G...depends on how far you wanna have it. For instance, if you would prefer the EVO VII's engine over an Eclipse 4g63 turbo, which will cost a lot too (and nearly impossible, save for the EVO VIII's engine). If you just want the looks, and not the performance, then it will cost you around 15 to 20 G...I've seen someone done it, and selling it on eBay for $15,000.

Its done a lot here in Thailand. They're done so well that you wouldn't even know it was an ordinary Lancer unless you looked at the chassis code :) Though it requires a lot of work. Most people who do the conversion here buy a smashed up evo from Japan and swap the body parts, interior parts, engine, etc... The conversion requires lots of welding/spot welding though, and while the car will be very fast, if the conversion is not done properly, you will get creaking sounds when going over bumps, etc.. from the lancer's body flexing.

If oyu're going for an EXACT copy [except for the engine] I almost think it would be cheaper [altho it comes clsoe to sacrilige !] to buy an actual Evo & downsize the engine to something more insureable

I did a conversion and i think for Evo VII is not that easy cause of the 4WD unless you buy from japan a Cedia 4WD 1.5 or 2.0 diesel
again you will have problems at the back of the car above the rear wheels. You have to pumb the sides.
Instead of all this have a 6.5 TME which is still cool

why dont put in a Eclipse GS-T engine in if ur gonna do all of that. For SURE converting the whole body to the Evo 7 will cost you alot, depending on how well you want the body to look like. Or y dont ya get a Mirage and make it look like the Evo 5 ot 6?

its 2 am and my thoughts are getting kind of gruesome, and im thinking about the worst thing ever, and i just realized that being someone who wants to convert a regular lancer to an evo is the worst thing ever. "hey, they do it in thailand" know what else they do in thailand, besides have aids? yea, you know what they do in thailand. Lets stop letting thailand tell us what to do. ok?
