Sorry for just bombarding the boards with threads :frown: but I had another question that popped into my head. Anyone out there has as many problems with creaky squeaky body panels and the such in their car? Furthermore, anyone found a good way to go through and get rid of the suckers? Trying to make my car feel a little less like the $2000 car that it is and that's one of the big things that blares 'Econo cheap car' to me

Yet again, THANKS:sorry:

front & rear strut tower bars
lower rear tie bar
front & rear sway bars
Good set of performance shocks/springs/coilovers

Buy QUALITY not price!

Its hard to say how to to fix a squeak with out hearing & seeing where its coming from.

Thanks, yeah, that's what I was figuring. Didn't know if some padding somewhere would help... like in the snaps or between panels or something? didn't know if this aspect of the 5th gen civic pissed anybody else out there off.

the only squeak i have noticed in my car is somewhere in the brakes... when I let off of the brake pedal quickly i get an annoying squeak that is going to get on my nerves... it sounds like it is coming from outside the car like maybe a caliper or something. anyone have an idea what it could be?

have a friend stand outside and reproduce the noise a few times in a parking lot until he figures it out... or if you're nuts let the friends drive your car and you figre it out  Might be the caliper literally is just squeaking... prolly would wanna be carefull lubin that mofo though... I've heard lubricant and braking don't go hand in hand. I dunno, some wise old man mentioned that to me once. :dunno:

I'll dig into it one of these days... I've only had the car since yesterday morning. I have a to do list in the works... rebuild CV joints, replace rear drums with disc from a junk yard car, probably rebuild calipers all the way around... replace hail damaged hood...

But its so fun to drive I don't want to deal with the down time!

You ever done/ helped/ had a friend whose done rear disc conver? I was thinking about doing it but didn't know how much work / skill it was going to take

You need to have your brakes serviced or you have shitty pads

Try greasing up with silicon grease: sleeves & bolts

rebuild CV joints

Just buy axles

hmm... sounds like when I dig in to take care of the axles I might as well freshen up the front calipers

While your at it push the pistons in & bleed all 4 brakes or even a full fluid flush.

always start with the farthest brake from the master cyclinder

RR - LR - RF - LF

fluid flush proy a good idea... which reminds me... what kind of fluid do the honda manual trannies use?

BullShifter

Honda manual trans is 10w-30 oil. Honda recomends using their manual transmission fluid, all it is valvoline oil with a Honda sticker

Aight, I'm confused on the royal purple stuff... is it better than mobile 1? its a full synthetic correct? Just seen it around so much lately:confused:

Royal Purple is excellent stuff... I came across it in looking for the most power in my SCCA car. My prep shop ran a dyno test and the Royal Purple engine oil alone showed an improvement of 1 HP. (at the wheels, not the crank) Now I know that doesn't sound like a lot but every little bit counts! Royal Purple has a web site but I'm not sure of the link right off the top of my head. Check it out for yourself!
