Hey, i'm not new in the forum, i just look around alot and not talk. but my dad is gonna buy me a car soon and i'm begging him to buy me a 240SX(any year dont care just wanna drift) but the guy is just sticking with buying me a maxima(dont want a FWD). also tried to tell him i'll buy a SR20det cuz it will last longer but he wont buy it. any suggestions???

sorry man...not really much i can do. in the end, it's his money to buy the car, his money for insurance, so there's not much i can say to help you really...but if i think of something, i'll post it!

o well the maximas arent bad ither.. i noe its not a drift car but it is a fast car its almost like a 300z motor.. its a vg30de adn the 300z is a vg30dett if you get the twin turbo.. and a supercharged maxima is very very fast i also heard of turbo packages for the maximas go look in the maxima forum if you are intrested..

yeah stock for stock I think the maxima's are faster...

some of the new ones smoke Mustangs and all lol...

my parents definately could have gotten me a car, but they aren't like that ... i'll have 9K saved by the end of the summer to buy one, too bad every damn 240sx in this county seems to be auto :mad:

I can't believe you actually asked this forum how to convince your dad to buy you a 240 and an SR ..

damn people and free rides. i pay out of my own pocket to get my car fixed, not "dad the car needs new brakes, buy me some". i'm actually looking to get a new car and leasing it, and sure enough, i'll be the one leasing it, cuz then i can say its mine mine mine and not "yeah, its my dad's car and he lets me drive it".

I wish my parents would get me a car, I had to buy my own POS car for 1,500 and all those there after but good luck getting the 240 anyway

my dad got me my car...only becuz it costededit $600.

I actually sold my PS2(which I bought with
MY money:D ) to buy a new clutch for my car.

I also work on it myself too.The only time I get someone(my dad) to help me is when I get stuck.

I'm kind of a backyard mechanic kinda guy.I love working on my 240.

I'm actually going to paint my own car too.I should be sanding it right now instead of posting on here:rolleyes:

Yeah...I got the car for free but in return I got good grades in school.

i dont have any problem with ghostchild. his car was $600, thats like just a real nice christmas gift.

but asking for a car and an sr swap?:biggrin2:

because you decided to just straight out bash him instead of nicely stating that this might not be the best place to find the answer to his question. you also called him a ricer and told him to stay out or something like that.

neither of them said anything like that.

a stock max will take a stock 240. the max is infact alot faster then a stock 240.

Trust me the MAX is not a weenie car. It will woop on just bout everything is its class. Unless you go spend 50k on a M5 or somthing but the MAX is both beautiful and powerfull!! i drive one do i know. 255hp and what 250trq?... how can you say no to that. throw in a SC and say good bye to everyone else http://www3.sympatico.ca/travischan/PUB/burnout.gif

i'd be willing to bet it's an older Max. probably one of the square ones from the early '90s. well, if you have to get one, at least try to get a manual.

yeah like the others said, if your dad is paying for everything then you can't really complain much. Hell, my first car was a 91 civic dx sedan that my dad bought for me... you think I wanted that? hahaha. I told him I wanted a 240 and he just told me that if I wanted one then I had to save on my own to get one. But yeah, max's are fairly quick stock. At least it's still a Nissan :smile:

exactly! i had a Nissan as my second car, a Pulsar NX, but the thing crapped out on me before i got a chance to really drive it. i'm just lucky that my first three cars were free (my auto shop teacher gave me a Sundance, it died, so to replace it he gave me the Pulsar, that died so he gave me the Pontiac). my dad told me just the other day that i'm lucky that i got them for free, because he said "if you hadn't, we wouldn't have bought you a car." i was like "gee...thanks...dad...". when confronted with the question of helping my pay for a 240 (i offered to pay them back in full), he also said "wait until you make your own money and buy it then." like i've said, i had a 240SX for about 2 days before i realized it needed too much work and got my money back. i guess i couldn't have expected much, seeing as i only paid $250 for the thing. it's still there, so i'm going to buy it as a parts car when i get my running 240SX.

so i guess beggers can't be choosy. my car get's me from point a to point b, and that's all i'll ask from it until i can afford my next 240SX.
