MOST OF YOU PEOPLE.

Why do I say this? Because all these illogical responses, with shit like "bandwagon trend jumpers" and such making it sound like you are high and mighty above these people. Let me ask, do you know how to drift? No offense, but I see you drive some car that is not capable of drifting, and I did read that you did own a 240 at one point, did you get good at drifting that? You know how difficult it is?

"I hope this can be a place for the OGs and "real" drifters to shoot the breeze, not internet drifters and super street wannabes."

Reading that post and your others makes me want to throw up. OG? "Real drifters?" What do you mean by that? I USED to practice drift with my S14 back in the day, now I have a miata. Does that make me OG?

Your words like this make you sound like someone trying too hard, like you are one of these bandwagon trend jumpers going to the other side and hating. If you have a problem with this, why don't you do something about it?

no i'm not good at drifting. but i do know that i love the sport, and have loved it for nearly 5 or 6 years now. sure i'm not an "OG" to the ACTUAL sport, but i'm an "OG" because i've liked it for so long, and i plan to participate in it when i get my next 240SX. if that makes me a bandwagon jumper, then so be it. i've been around the sport for a long time, i've just never been able to participate until recently, so i don't think that makes me a jumper. i personally hate seeing the bandwagon jumping happen, but that's only because i've been around it for so long and remember what it was like in the good old days. every day now, some new guy comes into this forum and asks about a 240SX with an engine swap. 9 times out of 10, when you look in the vehicle section of his profile, it will say "civic". some of them have good intentions, but how am i to know which ones?

and i never said i drove a GOOD car. i admit my car is a hunk of shit and i'm doing my best to get rid of it, but money doesn't come easy to me.

i think Derek's post was kind of oddly worded, since almost all of us here are "internet drifters" for the time being. Derek, you don't even have your license yet, so how can you be anything but an internet drifter? it's not a bad thing though. he doesn't go around claiming he can kick Taniguchi's ass, and neither do i. i know that i'll probably suck at drifting the first time i go out there, and i'm willing to learn because i love the sport so much.

i also don't believe i'm high an mighty above them. i've just been around the sport longer and it makes me sad to see it saturated by such people who are only in it because it's the latest "trend". they don't care about the heritage, they don't care about the practise, they don't care about the skill. they just want to be involved with drifting so they can sound kool in the latest conversations.

so there's my response. take it however you want it.

Yes that is a real drift car and no it isnt mine. If I were into drift, i would definately build a Z28 similar to this or use some other U.S. car. Don't hate, innovate. The thing that made the import race scene (and i use the term "scene" loosley) is that you could see imports beat the U.S. made "kings of the highway and track" everynow and then. Well, its time to do the same thing again, except with U.S. vehicles on a mostly japanese playing field. I like to watch drift but i dont think ill ever do it since i dont see it usefullness in a race other than touge (look it up if you dont know what that is) and thier are no mountain passes where i live so :icon16: . Who know though, maybe ill change my tune and you'll see me at the next D1 with a smokin' IROC baby!! (or Z28)

more power to ya! i've seen quite a few people using Z28's as drift cars, and they work fairly well surprisingly. rock on!

this looks like my friends snow drifter, white camaro with numerous rust spots, v6 manual, 15" steelies with cheap ass motomaster 185 tires, max psi possible in them, striped interior.ugly but it does the job..and yes he know how to drift, at least he makes J-turns pretty good.

that's Chris. i talk to him on the internet occasionally. he's a good drifter, and refuses to give up his Camaro.

just goes to show you that 240SX's and AE86's aren't the only options if you want a drift car.

I'll give him some credit, it does drift..... but it just doesn't look like it goes as smoothly as say a 240sx.....

god i am glad i chose the path of righteousness... 240sx vs civic wasnt that hard of a choice, but if it was honda or nothing, and i worked 100 miles away, i would drive a honda.

this is the way i see it (politically correct ramblings to follow::) nissan drivers / drifters - tend to be above the norm... they are the trend setters, the original. also the ones that know what they are talking about... notice that they TEND to be, (not always the case) they work long nights under the hood of the engine to improve their times, and pay superior attention to detail when picking suspension, tires, wheels, and other aftermarket parts, in hopes of getting 3 or 4 turns a little tighter, or a little faster... honda drivers tend to be headed one of 2 ways. either in hopes of one day being a superior being (which may very well include upgrading their vehicle, or in hopes of looking like they already are "the shit (see pimp, OG, hardcore, MOFO)" when in actuality they are wannabes, so named ricers. to the 240 drivers: make sure you represent above-the-norm. Honda drivers: pick a category and stick with it. (either way, your still losers on a track) WHEEWWWWW that was a lot... goodnight.

Dude.

WTF are you talking about? This is your own personal opinion? Fine. But my opinion of what you think sounds STUPID. I know PLENTY of people who drive Honda's that can kick ass on the track/strip/canyons/etc, it doesn't matter what kind of FUCKING CAR YOU DRIVE, as long as you know your shit and have the passion to work on it, then your set. These people I know work on their car all day and all night, in other words, they are NUTS.

Please, as much as I like Nissan as everyone else does in this forum, don't put it over every other manufactuer/driver and claim that they are above the norm.

This Honda hating on this forum is ridiculous, its like the TREND to hate on them here. Even after my 240, I was looking to get an EG6 Si for thrashing and learning to drive after 8 months of not even touching a gas pedal. You haters should realize that its not cool to hate, but whatever, thats your guys opinion.

Thx NervGS I know that i get just teased for having a honda here but its good fun Yesterdays' post was just an outright attack so thanks for standing up for me. nissan drivers / drifters wow every nissan driver is a drifter really learn something new every day. they already are "the shit (see pimp, OG, hardcore, MOFO)" when in actuality they are wannabes, so named ricers. yea sure i'm allways talking about how my 70hp 1.5 more like 80 now is owning vettes and lambos. Why don't you not brand drivers like that and show a little respect to fellow drivers.

next time, PM button. this had absolutely nothing to do with the thread.

as for the Honda ordeal, i don't hate Hondas. i hate Hondas that are riced out, and i hate the drivers of said vehicles that claim these cars, with 100lb body kit, 20lb each chrome wheels and 300lbs of stereo equipment but not a single engine mod, can kick any other car's ass swiftly and easily. i also hate Honda drivers who claim to be something they're not. they claim they can drift their Hondas, yet never actually give any evidence of this. to the ones who can drift them, KUDOS! you guys are definitley alright in my books. for the guys with EG6's with completely stock exteriors, and a JUN crate engine under the hood, KUDOS again. you guys rock too. to the guys who do their car up completely in Spoon stuff and take it to the track every weekend, another KUDOS for you too. it's not the Hondas i hate. in fact, there are many Hondas that i like. it's MOST (not all) MOST of the drivers, how they act and what they do to their cars that i'm a hater of.

/end rant.

PS if you're planning on saying to me "yeah, well you claim to drift, so why don't YOU show us evidence of it." stop before you say it. i have never claimed that i could drift. i am a drift fan, i love watching it, i love the sport, and i plan to learn how and activley compete in the future, but i have never claimed that i could before.
