Ignition switches

Got a 95 G20 that all research points to having a bad ignition switch.
Turn signals, dash lights and all gauges went out along with blower motor and wipers.
Found ONE at the Upullit, after ripping apart every Nissan in the place. ( I'm now an expert)
Only got wipers out of that one.
Ordered one from Autozone, because they quoted me 22 bucks, rather then the 70 or so everyone else wanted.
Went to pick it up and watched the "keystone cops' version of parts dorks send it flying throught the air.
Pure accident, and I didn't expect it to affect a brand new part, but the dern thing wouldn't even start the car!
Tested it immediately, because I've got the dash ripped apart, and went back in and told them their part was bad because they dropped it. They ordered me a new one and it, too, didn't work.
Got my money back and went to Napa. Ordered one for 70 bucks and am awaiting delivery.
I'm almost afraid to pick it up for fear of it not being the problem.
Am I missing something here?
On the five terminals at the back of the switch, the junkyard one has power at two terminals, besides the one that has power all the time. Shouldn't there be power at three of them with the engine on?
Makes sense to me, but then again, I'm an idiot.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
