Engine questionRadeon 06-05-2003, 05:10 AM This will probably sound like a dumb question, but does anyone know if a engine from a 1997-1998 hyundai tiburon will fit into a 96 200sx (us spec). One of my friends just recently purchased a 200sx but is now saying that it has way to many miles on it, about 120K. And he has a tiburon engine laying around that has about 15k on it. I've told him to stick with the engine he has or to get a bluebird sr20det, but he doesn't have the money for it right now, so i've been asking around for him. I've emailed hyundai and nissan plus a few other places, but they seem to be taking their time getting back with me on this. So any help with this would be great. Thanks Radeon SR20-B14 07-10-2003, 05:24 PM Originally posted by Radeon This will probably sound like a dumb question, but does anyone know if a engine from a 1997-1998 hyundai tiburon will fit into a 96 200sx (us spec). Thanks Radeon ......no offense, but Nissan and Hyundai are taking their time because they haven't finished laughing yet. stick with the engine he has, or go up to a SR20DE (assuming it's a G16.) not only would you have to do a TOTALLY custom wiring harness, you'd also have to build custom motor mounts, and cut up quite a bit of the sheet metal in the engine bay to make it work. the crossmember most likely will not fit, so you'll either have to have it cut and massaged, or have a custom oil pan built. IF you manage to get that far, then you have to go thru a Tiburon manual and try to find a wiring diagram for the harness, then try to attatch those wires to the gauges and warning lights. basically, you wouldn't have a 200SX anymore, and you'd end up spending around $10,000 - $12,000 just to get it running. why not spend $1000 and buy a used low-mileage SR20DE. -kevin- vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
