It’s probably best to Split the whole process into Stages. The Total Cost will be £57,007.38 not including shipping tax or customs charges.

The TV is needed for the HKS Camp System

Install is supposed to be minimal (drifting to Intial D music appeals to me)

i can't get an R34 for less well maybe but it'll only be like 5000 pounds less at most and even then it won't have anywhere near the performance

The total cost factors in the cost of the vehicle too

It's not very feasible. Status on amount of money saved up is in my sig

The only other problem is Trust make a carbon prop shaft for the S15 According to signal but i can't get a price for it and does anyone know who makes an aftermarket Cam timing belt?

WhiteBlur - we should keep in touch while both of us are building up our Sileighties. :) i don't plan on putting an aftermarket bumper on mine at first, since it'll most likely get damaged while drifting, but i might get one later on and just put the stock one on while drifting...

it seems like you have a whole shytload to do. haha..good luck...and post pics when you get the CAR .. not the mods haha.. because i think all that is gonna take at least half a year unless you got a shop who can do all that HKS stuff.

this is more a 5 year plus project altho i have 4 years of Automotive Engineering to do hopefully get a high paying job after wards and it would accelerate the building of the last stages

Parts wise, you have everything down pat.

I suggest you get some basic boltons first, gain some experience with the SR20DET, and go from there.

money is only a time factor i am not bothered about resale value as it will be low. Who's going to want a 500hp+ Silvia in England. Living comfortably for a year is what i do most of the time. Things break so what? Even if you drive a standard car things break. I intend on doing everything myself there is no point to it otherwise.

I dont wanna burst your bubble, but what you are proposing is some heavy duty shit.

Its not boltons, its like a total re-building of the car. It wont all fit into place, its trial and error. Why do you think Signals S15 cost $500,000

Norris designs EVO cost roughly $100,000 and its just boltons and an uprated turbo.

Your parts my cost 56,000 pounds+car, but id estimate 10,000 in total shipping costs, especially for engine parts, bodykit, wheels, tires and other crap you need flown in from Japan

Id also buy another SR20DET with transmissin in case something blows.

Thats a majorly fu*kin huge list man. You gotta be totally devoted to do all that. I'll say on the bright side, if you get it done you will be knbown worldwide, you will be in alot of magazines, and you will be really freakin fast! :biggrin:

On the bad side, that dude is right. Its going to cost more then just parts price. You can definitely do alot of this yourself but there is stuff you wont be able to do I'm guessing anyways. Hidden fees are going to run you up the wall. I'd safely call it more like a 10 year project then a 5 year project on any average middle-aged man's working salary. My project I estimaye will run me up about 7 years hehehe, but I'm in no rush. I just want something to tinker around with. I probably wont fifnsh it anyways lol!

Keep in mind in that amount of time, when you are finally done, your brand new S15 will then be old news. Newer cars will be taking to the headlines. You might want to ask yourself, do you really want to spend all that money on that car now? Or should you keep saving your money, buy the parts as you go along, then buy the Silvia later. You may not be driving as quickly but, The car will be cheaper and when you do get it, igve about a month of hard work and you can have everything you bought slammed into your car and boom! all of a sudden this fully done up Silvia rips the streets! No ones ever seen him before! LOL.

Just my two bits worth man, either way it'll be alot of fun for ya and a good eductation!

there are some of those things in my garage but it doesn't matter if you go all out on a car stuff like that becomes a necessary and i'm not joking when i say i want to do this because of my automotive engineering course which whatever job i do afterwards should let me be able to do alot of the stuff on this myself.

This is so far beyond stupid I can't believe you guys are taking a kid's dream so seriously. 50 thousand quid for a S15 on a 5 years build project for a car that is designed to be budget sports in Japan?????? Get real. If you don't like 4wd GTRs how about spending on a Supra TT with potential for up to 700hp on stock engine internals. A BPU++ Supra running on stock twins will give you 450rwhp easy without touching the turbos, the cams or engine internals, it won't cost you anywhere close to 50k quid, and the resale value 5 years down the line will dust your S15 to oblivion.

Resale value - this car is not to be sold on thats the bottom line i already established that.

The idea of listing this is to see if anyone could help me out with what parts are missing what i should use instead that sort of thing.

Why would i want a Supra I see them all the time these Fast and Furious knock offs that everyone drives. I'm sorry but i don't want to drive something that looks as if everyone in England is trying to RICE OUT

this isn't entirely serious its more a proposal. At the moment i have dumped this project due to me having to quit my job (which would've let me have enough money in about 9 months maybe more to buy the car which would've been the first stage)
I was hoping all this would be done during my Studies in Automotive Engineering and that i could possible make the Turbocharging part of the Final year which involves that specific topic and alot of practical work.

Supra vs Silvia

I am not going to get insured for a Supra or a Skyline untill i earn over 50k a year and i am 25 which is 5 years away. Silvia's aren't as powerful and are 4 cylinders and have one turbo. Note that it has one turbo less and 2 cylinders less which results in less insurance costs.

If you think i'm going to tell the insurance company what i'm doing to the car there's no way in hell thats happening.

Hey, some how i stumbled apon this site whilst looking for instruction to install a hks fuel monitor. I happend to see the first post about some guy who is going to try and spen 50k on his mota. After reading all of the "huge" list of stuff he was planning i had to sign up to the forum just to say, "fair play". Anyone willing to go that far with a mota is well worth talking to. Also i see people are dissing the fact that you cant do the work your self... My first car was a diahatsu charade gtti 1.0 turbo... stock 99bhp. In my garage with a list of bolt-on's and me, doing my own port and polis job (me not being a mechanic) got the car to 200bhp. Not bad for a novice in a "shed".. I'm trying to get something at Gatwick that pays £10 an hour doing 10 -10 shifts saturday and sunday. Only problem is that the guy i know who works this kindof job says that he doesn't get offered work that often and i can't do with that.

O by the way i am getting a job at AVIS car rentals at a well know british international airport and they pay quite well. £7000 a year

And www.car-imports-direct.com have had the price of their Silvia at 12995 for the last 3 years or more. I just seen a newer 2002 on autotrader for 11000 (modified) so i presume i might be able to get an imported once for about 8k. If i can't i'll get an RX7

I want a Black Silvia S15 tho.

Yea well. First step is getting the car. The list was for a Design class i had last year i got a damn good mark for all of it too. In reality its probably a bit far fetched but the fact i'm doing automotive engineering and the average for a chartered engineer is £50,000 a year or around $100,000 will get me to my goal.
