Air conditioning recharge question...wassupjamesd 06-02-2003, 08:23 PM my air conditioning was working last week on my honda civic. now i turn it on, and it's just outside air temperature. i bought a recharge kit for R134a type systems. but the refrigerant wasn't transfering out of the can to the car. anyone know why? i was wondering if it was something electrical or did i buy a cheap-o refresh system or whaaat? it's 90 degrees out and i'm melting! NATER TWO ZERO 06-03-2003, 02:25 AM Were you trying to put it in the low side or the high side of the system? My guess it wasn't going in because you had no vaccum. wassupjamesd 06-03-2003, 11:11 AM i was putting it in the low side of the system. only a small amount will transfer. i have a pressure guage and the reading is high. i noticed the compresser clutch isn't spinning at all. i don't know if it's lack of oil, electrical, or time to get new parts. if anyone ran into the same problem, lmk. thanks. qtchice333 06-27-2003, 11:54 PM although i have no idea how to charge an auto a/c unit, i found some info. on it after reading your post. i figured i'd at least give it to you & hopefully you can get your a/c working again!!! believe me, i know what it's like & it's not pretty =) good luck to you!!! http://autos.yahoo.com/repair/results/ques023.html wassupjamesd 06-30-2003, 11:40 AM thanks for your help. i got the car taken in for a diagnostic. they saw i had a blown fuse, changed it, and it blew after the AC was on for 1 minute. they said i now i have an electrical problem and have to take it to an electrical diagnostic center. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
