Can you just pull the DRL relay? It's in the underhood fuse block.

Why do you want to disable them?

Gmtech1, I don't think you can pull the DRL relay, because then you will also lose your power to one of the headlights....it's a two pole relay.....when in DRL mode the relay puts the two headlights in series(low output because each headlight is only getting one half of it's normal voltage).......when in lamp control mode, it puts them in parrallel circuits with full power for each light......

But you are half right.....you remove the relay, but you have to insert a jumper to replace the relay contacts, for when the relay is NOT energized.....

Thanks, I don't have a schematic right now, was just suggesting it to see if it would work. Now I know.

Just so you know, those bulbs are probably illegal to use on the road. Don't be surprised if you get a ticket or worse if the police want to give a ticket. You ain't allowed to use non-DOT aproved lights as it can be a safety concern for those who cross you. Yes, I wish I could ticked some of those who modify their headlight and blind me... Here, I beleive that the car would have to be tow away if the police want as the car is not road legal in that case.

There is two way of disabling DRL, one is removing the relay and jumping the contacts, or take out the DRL relay and cut the coil pin... or cut the wire that go from the BCM to the relay (bad idea)

Also, you might want to check the local regulation, some claim that disabling DRL is illegal, but I do not know if this is true or not.

Personally, I wouln't disable DRL, they do make you more visible, so it's safer.

thanks for your advice , i've been yanked plenty of times but never for headlights just tints , (fix it ticket) lol , anyway my custom headlamps are DOT approved . I don't wanna blind anyone , i hate being blinded myself , i just wanna disable my DRL cuz i like control of my lights , I understand the safety aspect of it completely, i just don't see the point of cruising down the road on a bright sunny day with my lights burnin , don't mind cruising with my fogs on tho , also those cutom bulbs aren't cheap either .. ps is the BCM method a bad idea? y?

cutting wires is not the best way to do things, and when you want to undo it it's a real pita.

One of the easiest way is really jumping the wire in the fusebox, the second best is to modify a relay.
