I own a 2004 pontiac grand am manual transmission 2.2l. I purchased a ct3371 car starter from canadian tire. I have installed it as well as a passlock bypass module. I have the remote programmed. I set the into ready mode and turn the key off and the car will stay running. The only weird thing at that stage is that the park lights are supposed to flash three times, instead i just here three clicking sounds coming from the dash. I exit the vehicle and shut the engine down with the remote. I wait a while then try to start it with the starter. The lights come on then go out signifying that the car has recieved the signal, it should start within five seconds but doesn't. Any ideas?

I wouldn't know where to start....you have added a bypass module and a remote start......all I can suggest is to double check your wiring....how did you wire this? Tape, quick connects or soldered?

i used quick connects which may not be the best but everything seems like the connections are okay. just maybe not the right connections

might want to check the hood switch. you might have misadjusted it and it get grounded even with the hood closed.

Also, you have a miswiring or misconnection since the brake light do not flash. Also, the module check the brake light signal to know if you pressed the pedal. Might have miswired something.

Once it work, don't forget to check that the car will NOT start in gear! VERY IMPORTANT!

Also, check the hood switch to see if it work. Start with the remote, open the hood. The engine should shut down.

Another IMPOTANT CHECK: start with remote, press the brake. the car should stop. if not you miswired it and it could be a safety hazard.

ill check that hood switch. that just might be it. i dont think the park lights are wired wrong though because they flash properly for the other remote functions(trunk open lock, unlock)ill check the brake as well as the starting in gear. I think it has to be out of gear though to set it in ready mode because in order to do so i have to put the park brake on then take my foot off the brake
