2003 stratus 2.4L 41TE trans stuck in third!

Came on suddenly. 2003 stratus 2.4L 4spd auto stuck in third gear and speedometer stopped working. Trans shifts hard from N to D. Engine also revs up and down at idle. Showing P0135 and P0705 DTC codes. Drove smooth and solid then this started. Checked fluid, cables, linkage, fuses... all ok. Where should I start?

I dont know if you got this fixed but it's a easy fix. The problem is the solder points on the gauges get old and crack so it doesn't tell your trans to shift out of first gear. Take the dash apart and remove the gauges and re solder the cracked and old points on the board and it will work fine again or you can buy new gauges from a junkyard.

Fixed! Believe it or not it was a loose connection on the back-up light. I found a reference on another forum to a similar problem on a 2.4L Chrysler mini-van that was a short in the back-up light, so I looked and found a loose wire on my stratus. Once fixed, this corrected all problems. Go figure...
