Correct/compatible spark plug for 2004 GrandAm

I just had my car at a local repair shop for a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator and they mentioned that the Bosch +4 plugs I had installed were not the right ones for this car and that I needed ACDelco plugs. It has been awhile since I installed them and the shop reported they were fouled so I went to a parts store and all they had were ACDelco iridium, and not Platinum like the shop said I needed.
Are the ACDelco Iridium plugs compatible or correct for this car? I never had a problem with the Boschs running, but if there is something that would work better, I'll get that.

I know my 2002 ask for iridium plugs.
I keep hearing that bosch plugs are total junk... yet people use them usually without problems.
Personally, if your current plugs don't cause misfire, keep them.

The Iridium plugs will work just fine. It sounds to me like the shop was just trying to get more money out of you. Even if the Bosch plugs were fouled if you didn't have any issues with them causing misfires or poor fuel economy then they were OK for your car just like thephantom1492 said.

Thanks guys. I've had these for 40K-60K miles, I don't remember exactly when I replaced them last.
The shop said they were fouled due to the faulty fuel pressure regulator and if I didn't replace them soon, it would plug up my catalytic converter. Everything seemed to be fine before the FPR went out and I only drove it for a a mile or two to get it home, but I didn't hear it misfire at all.
Need to worry about the cat getting plugged or just a scare tactic to get more money?

What could happend is that you get misfire or incomplete burn, which would drop the fuel economy.
What will happend next is that the catalytic converter would do it's job: burn the unburn fuel and incompletly burn fuel.
By doing so, it heat up.
The danger is to have a meltdown. From what I read, you need to have a serious unburn fuel issue for that to be a problem.
Will it plug the converter? not unless it meltdown.

Look at the plug # recommended in the owner's manual.....'04 probably originally had platinums.....could have been a number change over to iridium......give the part store the number from the manual, and they can tell you if it changed.....or go to any GM dealership and just check on the number from your manual.....
