I tought about starting up a new comp wich could be pretty cool.

1. we choose a car pic to draw.
2. we draw it.
3. we make a poll and vote for the winner.

this is just an idea wich i think can get the forum running a little faster.

if you accept the idea please vote and if you have any suggestions you can allso post them.

I can be the organiser of this if you want..

i hop you like this idea and it starts soon..

well, this forum is for drawing and sketching, so you can sketch if you want, cause i/ the orgenizor (who ever it will be) will give post a pic and than the comp begins and you can draw the pic in any drawing style, wich means: you just draw the car;) and this is not an thing that every member should do.. its only if you want to compite in it.

sounds like a good idea but im guessing we will need a donor car and photographer who has a really nice car and could take really nice pictures. We would need a picture that has high resolution and good lighting conditions to make it challenging. depending on the time, I might be able to join you guys. hope exams won't interfere with it much. :rolleyes:

you can draw it in different styles, and i will get a high-res pic for you;) , dont worrie, ive got lots of them;)

I just thought of something. Over at wetcanvas.com individuals get like medals put under their names for comps they win I guess. They look cool, like actual war/military medals.

Perhaps we can get something like that for our comp winners. Or for the current winner he/she can have a banner trophy and the next winner gets that banner trophy kind of like the NHL it gets passed around.

Just some thoughts.

When I was in the Chair Force we got ribbon medals (rectangle) like military uniforms and then if you got multiple awards of the same kind you got bronze oak leaf clusters and then if you got like 4 oaks you then got a silver oak and then 4 silver oaks turned into one gold oak and so forth. I think it went some think like that.

Except we can have bronze, silver than gold little tires or something funny like that.

I know what we can do for ribbons. Instead of the nice crisp verticle lines found in the ribbon image we can have tire tread marks on our ribbons.

what tire marks on it? i can write in a tire mark text.. but im not shure i get your idea this time..:(

if any of you get a paper cut or become injured in any way while doing your drawing you can get the purple heart

also i think what asaenz is trying to say is if you look at the medals that he posted and see the fabric above the actual medal, if the stripes on theat part were to be made of tread marks and not made of crisp fabric lines.

im not exactly sure if this is right but i think it might be.
also i think that having the medals is an awsome idea. also will the contests be like monthly?

it matters on how much time it takes you to draw;)

But Ran your banner is tight. I love it.

Hey I have three lead pencil stab wounds in my right hand, thats my drawing hand, bet that is where I get my super power....hee hee

I remember how I got each of them too, I can still see the lead marks all in the palm of my hand.

Hey Ran I was wondering if you could change the color of the award ribbon you used. The one used is called "the bronze star” I am not sure what it means but I think it is war related so one might not like us using it. Can you modify the bronze star perhaps change the color or change the stripe in the center to a tread mark.

I can draw something up and then one of you folks that are good with PS or ILL can trace it and color it or something.

That one was my second choice. I really like the background on that one, but I like the angle on the one I posted. I'm good with either of those two.

I don't see why not. :D Just choose a photo and let it roll. You can't really go wrong with a Lambo. These angles aren't the easiest to draw, but they are challenging and fun. I think this would be a good place to start. You can make adjustments on the next competition if neccessary.

Oh, an idea just struck...how about the winner of the competition gets to choose the next photo. That way, we should be able to keep the photos pretty diverse...unless of course asaenz wins them all. :cool:
