I was trying to add a back up warning device today. The instructions said to attach one wire to the positive wire going into the back up light and ground the other. The wires coming out of the light socket is black & green. I tried every combination possible and could'nt get it to work. Now, my back up lights don't work at all. I checked the fuses and they are good. Any suggestions? By the way, the back up device does work.

As in back up light device works is that hooked up to back up circuit and in reverse position on shift lever?
Where did you tap into backup lights?
Does it still have 12 volts to backup lights?
IF NOT YOU ARE LOSING VOLTAGE SOME PLACE.
Trace wiring back and see where you are losing it.

Thanks for the reply. I should have said that I checked out the warning device by attaching it to a battery. Nothing is attached to the back up light wiring now.
