I have a 2000 Bonneville and just recently the anti-lock,trac off, and brake lights came on....Took it to our local tire shop and they scanned the car and these codes came up...Code C1214 & C1248.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction with this or had the same problem.
Thanks

The C1248 just indicates that the Electonic Brake Control Module (EBCM) turned on the red brake light. It did this because of the C1214. C1214 description is ABS System Relay Contact or Coil Circuit Open. The relay is an internal part of the EBCM. If the code is cleared and returns during a function test, you will need an EBCM installed and programmed.

So the wierdest thing happened today....I drove into reno which is 40 miles from my house..all lights (ABS-Red Brake-Trac off) were on. I got in the car to head home and started the car and All the lights are off and have been off for the 40 miles home and I even went out and started it and drove it a few more miles and it looks like everything is fine...B
oy if this isn't weird

I am having the same problem with mine. Every time I hit a bump it throws the lights on. Every time I shut the car off and start it up all lights are off until the next bump. I think it is a wiring issue to the wheel speed sensors.

With the key out of the ignition, disconnect the harness to the EBCM...check contacts for corrosion.....if ok, just reconnect and see if that solves the problem.....
