Hi..I have a 1995 Grand Am SE that needs the lower intake manifold gasket replaced. Shop wants almost $1000. to do it and I've heard that it can be done yourself, just takes time. I cant afford $1000 so times all I've got. Would anyone be able to walk me through the process or give me any ideas as to where I could find out how to change this. Thanks, from a gal trying to save some money!

Check out BNaylor's post over on the Alero forum:

Look for the Chevy 3400 in the link.....

About a year ago I paid $850 to have mine done; with all new bolts. It's still going strong.
Hope this helps.

The post by BNaylor is good but I suggest that you purchase a Chilton's service manual for your car before you begin. You can get them from many sources, try Amazon first. This will guide you and should make the job less stressful.
