Wrx Is King!kc2thou 11-08-2001, 01:47 AM The ne Rex is the best sub-compact out there right now, for the price, it cant be beat! dejoux 11-08-2001, 07:28 AM Bang for your buck over here you would be correct but best sporty sedan overall Id way prefer an M3 and so would most people if money was no object. Especially since the new WRX is so ugly compared to the old one and you dont have the STi in America G-Forces 11-08-2001, 08:51 AM Well in a price/performance comparo the WRX would win....but you didn't state that sooooooo...M3. :) DVSNCYNIKL 11-08-2001, 08:51 AM Based solely on the choices you provided, WRX.:D F20C 11-10-2001, 12:10 AM STi vs EVO7 is a much better comparison. S Brake 11-10-2001, 03:20 PM I almost went with M3, but i realized that if i wanted to take my very fast sedan off road, which i most likely will, i wouldn't do that with the M3, so WRX it is! F20C 11-10-2001, 11:18 PM How many WRX owner really take their car for off road usage? Chris 11-11-2001, 10:31 AM When I get by WRX STi, with about 10 grand in some nice mods, it will be doing rallys. So for me, its the WRX. And when we get the STi, I'm willing to bet $50 it'll be faster than the M3. dejoux 11-11-2001, 06:23 PM Perhaps theres so many WRX supporters because you dont have them, theyre really common over here and although they are a very nice car I would choose an M3 anyday. M3 Performance: 0-100 km/h 5.8 secs, standing 1/4 13.7 secs M Coupe: 0-100 km/h 4.9 secs, standing 1/4 13.5 secs 1998 WRX (newest i can find and the new shape is slower): 0-100 km/h 5.5 secs, standing 1/4 14.2 secs 1998 STi (once again new ones are slower): 0-100 km/h 4.6 secs, standing 1/4 13.3 secs. Once you consider that the version 7 Sti is alot heavier witht he same motor as the 1998 there wont be alot of time in it. And look the M3 will be catching fast, Sti only beats it on better traction at the start. Plus you ever heard an M3 being pushed, that exhaust note is enough to make me want it, its my favourite engine, I lonve the sound of it Chris 11-11-2001, 07:38 PM Take a special version of an STi, like 22B. Those are REALLY fast:ylsuper dejoux 11-11-2001, 07:54 PM Subaru Impreza 22B 276 hp 0-30mph = 1.7 0-60mph = 5.0 0-100mph = 13.0 Standing 1/4 = 13.7 @ 102 mph Chris 11-11-2001, 10:16 PM That is a supremely poorly driven example. C&D got one to 60 in around 4.5 seconds. crayzayjay 11-12-2001, 08:09 PM Acceleration times? That's all this is being based on??? Surely there's more to performance driving than just drag-racing?? Anyway, the 22B isn't the best Impreza, it would be the P1 or probably even the RB5. The 22B is just too extreme and uncompromising, especially on UK roads. Whilst we're on the subject of Imprezas, will someone tell me how an already aesthetically challenged car could get uglier? The new one is repulsive! What were they thinking?? Theres talk that there will be a facelift as sales have been poor. Anyone know the deal? cheers jay F20C 11-13-2001, 12:11 AM M3 will edge out new generation STi slightly. Chris 11-14-2001, 12:22 PM I like the old Subbie. The new one is kinda homely (although they are selling of them they can over here), it really needs new Prodrive lights like the WRC car. I dont think they will have a restlyle, although some things should be changed. About a comparison between an STi and M3, we will probably see one soon.;) crayzayjay 11-14-2001, 03:29 PM The new M3 whips the WRX, and kicks the UK300's ass... outspeeds, outhandles both as for M3 V STi, it'll be closer but the M3 should see it off.. it all depends on what you want... do you want to drive, or be driven? ;) cheers jay Gonthrax 11-20-2001, 02:42 PM Hey guys, I have to give the WRX some snaps as a quick little car. But I must stay true to my heart. GTR Skylines are still the big dog :p Seriously though, my friend has a US WRX and its a zippy little thing, a bit of turbo lag though. I think he could get rid of it IF HE"D LEARN TO DRIVE A TURBO CAR!!!!! He never keeps it above 3500rpm when he's lookin for trouble. I keep tellin him, you have to be runnin that boost so you can be ready to jump but he doesn't listen  I am a bit unsure as to whether or not I like the looks. I'm torn between "Strange bug eyed alien" and "Mean Little Front End" Anyhow, they are fun to drive for sure and they'll smoke most of the accords, stangs, maros, and such around were I am. And they are fun as hell to take through the twisties. jeffrey 11-27-2001, 05:10 AM I like mine just fine. :alien2: mentalmickey 12-03-2001, 07:08 PM i want one!!!!!!!!:( ever since i drove my mates impreza i've wanted one badly! i want a 1995 model in black, tints, black leather, slammed to the ground with gold 17" alloys, stainless steel exhaust with 5" tailpie, wrx boot spoiler and a hugmungeous JBL system.:D my time will come! crayzayjay 12-04-2001, 11:55 AM i want a 1995 model in black, tints, black leather, slammed to the ground with gold 17" alloys, stainless steel exhaust with 5" tailpie, wrx boot spoiler and a hugmungeous JBL system. my time will come! oh dear... MAXPower reader by any chance? Chris 12-04-2001, 12:08 PM Sounds a little ricey to me. Not my "cup of tea", but thats me. The only decal on my car will be "The Anti-Rice" mentalmickey 12-04-2001, 12:19 PM  I ABSOLUTELY HATE MAX POWER, FAST CAR, REDLINE, REVS...WHY DOES EVERYONE ASSOCIATE ME WITH THAT TRIPE! FULL OF BRAND NEW CARS WITH THOUSANDS SPENT ON IT THAT THE AVERAGE READER CAN'T POSSIBLY AFFORD TO SPEND ON THEIR CARS IN THEIR LIFETIME. anyway the average age is 14 for kiddies to dream and oggle at the semi nude pics. best in the world? ha! dream on. i've always like the impreza ever since i first saw one in a scooby dealer ship when my younger sister had work experience. it was a colin mc crae special edition. i got brouchers and every thing. the next step when i had a chance to drive a 'terzo' met blue with gold rims. man i was hooked. when i get mine i won't ring max power or the like cos they ain't worth it. :D crayzayjay 12-04-2001, 08:06 PM I ABSOLUTELY HATE MAX POWER, FAST CAR, REDLINE, REVS...WHY DOES EVERYONE ASSOCIATE ME WITH THAT TRIPE! cos the description of the impreza you want screams of tacky add-ons, and those 3 spoke alloys, (clear rear lenses?), and body mods on your (lowered?) sierra do nothing to ditch this maxpower image that as you say is often associated to you cheers jay mentalmickey 12-05-2001, 02:55 PM so you're telling me that everybody here drives a standard motor?! i don't think modifying cars is tacky, its about making your car unique to you. unfortuantely i and many others get cheesed off when we are refered to boy racers and read boy racer mags. fair enough you got a point about the 3 spokes but for Ģ40 for the 7.5 x 16" alloys on their own i had to get them. (Ģ40 is same cost to fill up my tank) if i could afford to i would have a decent set of rims. with a new set of 16" with tyres costing up to Ģ700, my wheels cost me Ģ280 inc brand new tyres. you can't just associate everyone with a modded car to be a max power reader. i don't roar round like a looney and cause accidents or do wheel spins and handbrake turns in my local supermarket carpark. i might not spend a lot on my car, i work long hours for sod all money anyway so what ever i get i try to make my car my personal car, my own touches. tacky or whatever you may think of it, i just happen to like it as do my friends. i paid for my car, paid for my insurance and everything, unlilke the spoilt brats who gets their saxo vtr's paid for by mummy and daddy and think they're the dogs and race everybody only to stick it in a ditch and blame it on something else. mentalmickey 12-06-2001, 11:45 AM are you saying that this guys impreza is tacky? it what i hope to have in a couple of years time, but with gold alloys. Chris 12-07-2001, 11:18 PM OK, thats not Fast Car material, which is good. Now I will no longer associate you with Ben or Scary Steve:D crayzayjay 12-11-2001, 01:26 PM I didn't say modifying cars is tacky. In fact, it can be done in a very tasteful way that makes the car look much better. As for the 3 spoke alloys, there's a reason why they were so cheap. You say you don't want to be associated with MaxPower, Revs etc, but then you make the excuse that they were so cheap it doesn't matter what they look like. 3 spoke alloys are the symbol of boy racers. They're ugly, tacky, and look cheap. You seem to have doubts about them yourself. I appreciate the fact that you financed everything involved with the car, good on you, but I don't see why it's necessary to have a go at "spoilt brats" who get cars given to them by their parents. If this were true I would be one of these "spoilt brats" as my parents bought me my car. I don't see anything wrong with the fact they did that, i hope to be able to repay their generosity by doing the same in the future. At the end of the day, you're completely right. To each their own. If you like it, that's all that counts. All i did was voice my own opinion, which you disagreed with. I think your car is MaxPower material (front cover), you don't, end of story. As for the Impreza, IMHO, it's somewhat lacking in taste and is vulgar. But that's my opinion. I don't like the way they look, but I have a lot of respect for what they do and the way they go. cheers jay Euro19 01-05-2002, 11:15 PM Why are you comparing M3 with Impreza? Because of performance, well if so Impreza is the beast and the M3 is the best equation of power/quality/performance/luxury/STYLING And of course Skyline and Evo VII or even VI V IV are better than that thing with egg lights. I still havenīt seen any Subaru to look just right. Well maybe the previous stock Impreza (not with those silly and ugly huge wings or fenders) did look cool rezdog_420 01-31-2002, 01:14 AM now how many of u people have actually driven a WRX, i have since i work at the subaru dealership and i would take a WRX over a M3 anyday. for real world performance and bang for the buck, the WRX is the way to go, and it already has so many mods out there that if u modified a WRX up to the amount of money u spent on a M3 u would have a WRX that goes 0-60 mph in 4.0 sec. flat and 1/4 miles in the mid to lower 12's. i race RX-7's and love the rotary, but once we got the WRX's in our shop, my soul was sold to the scooby. and for all u rich bastards out there, i would rally my new WRX because i know how to drive one with the intensity of Colin McRae. besides the new M3 isn't even all-wheel drive and is alot more pricier to mod up and get more potential out of it. i do agree the the new WRX isn't as pretty as the old ones or as fast either, but go down to your local Subaru dealership and test one out, it easily goes 90 mph in 3rd gear with out breakin a sweet, or any signs of problems, and this is stock too! not to mention u get alot better gas mileage from the new scooby than u would with the M3, like i said, welcome to the real world performance factor, u rich punks!!!!:flipa: :finger: :flipa: Chris 01-31-2002, 02:25 PM Uh, no one is dissing the WRX. Anyone who does is pretty single-minded IMO. But you can't deny the M3 either, a subbie will never be as luxurious inside without big money. (PS, the M3 is gettting too luxurious and heavy for my tastes.) Me, I'd take the WRX anyday. I am a huge subbie fan, and I would mod it and rally it if it were mine. ImportFreak 01-31-2002, 03:08 PM OUCH.. wrx or m3. both different cars but hard choice for luxurious speeding - M3 all the way for the pedal to the metal off a cliff on a mountain feeling - WRX!!!!!! sooo whatever.. bvut the wrx isnt as good looking rezdog_420 01-31-2002, 05:15 PM dont get me wrong, i like the M3 alot too, but for my taste in performance and no need for too much luxury, the WRX is the way to go. who needs leather interior in a sports car anyway, id toss them out for a pair of Recaro race buckets and 5 point harness anyway! but i do wish the the WRX had a 6 speed tranny like the M3, that would be fuckin awesome! but only the STi version is blessed with such options. P.S. have any of you looked at the article on the stage II WRX on www.cobbracing.com it is absolutely amazing what they can do to the new scooby. same as the M2 performance WRX that was tested in Sport Compact Car Magazine, it was pure sports car with 4 doors. anyway, the WRX is definately the car for us enthusiasts with a really heavy foot and not so deep of pockets.:smoker2: rezdog_420 01-31-2002, 05:17 PM opps!!! wrong address, it was www.cobbtuning.com that has the Subaru tuning specialists that are stationed in Texas near the Dallas area. these guys know how to make some basass scooby's!!!:sun: Koldor 02-01-2002, 04:09 AM Well about the new WRX i like the New Look @ first i hated it but now i'm getting used to it Plus in about 6 - 8 months i will be buying a STi Just my 2 cents rezdog_420 02-01-2002, 04:41 PM koldor, are u from here in America? if so, have u heard of any news of a the STi version coming here? i would love to see the STi grace the streets of America and stomp all of those damn Cameros and Mustangs who think there top shit! crayzayjay 02-01-2002, 07:29 PM rezdog_420> subaru impreza WRX => 22mpg BMW M3 => 23.7mpg so much for "a lot better gas mileage" and whats all this sh*t about "rich punks"? because someone prefers the M3 it makes them a rich punk? how about it looking at the decision as showing a little taste? the impreza is ugly, looks like sh*t inside, will depreciate 10 times faster than the M3. Therefore, it is cheaper to buy, more expensive to run, not as fast, less involving (the steering feels like wool to name one of many flaws), and will return less money when you wish to sell (which you will inevitably want to do when the newer, uglier, impreza comes out in 5 years time) so you "know how to drive with the intensity of colin mcrae?" how impressive.. tell me, which team do you race for in the wrc? after all you work for subaru someone should have noticed your talent by now "the new M3 isnt even all wheel drive?" OH NO! what a disaster, what a shortcoming!! i guess ferraris had better ditch the rwd system they have on all their cars and go for AWD, no wait, FWD, maybe you think thats best.. and you know what? even F1 cars should be 4wd... that would make things interesting.. real racing.... if you havent quite got it, im being sarcastic. RWD is what a sports car is all about. a 4wd chassis does offer more grip, but is easier to drive (therefore less of a challenge, therefore less of a sports car) and is heavier too. i suspect you have driven the M3 to launch such a scathing attack on it... you have driven it, havent you? Koldor 02-01-2002, 08:28 PM na mate i'm Australian And they released it in December 2001 to bad its only the 195 Kw one not the 206 kw one Euro19 02-01-2002, 09:21 PM I kinda agree with crayzayjay, anyway the Lancer Evo is a hell of a car, much better than the Impreza; and better looking of course!! Chris 02-02-2002, 10:08 PM Well, with confirmation that the EVO VII will be here in full 300+hp glory in a year, you can bet we will be getting the STi (personally, I'd get the subbie, but thats something else entirely!) Chris 02-02-2002, 10:08 PM Well, with confirmation that the EVO VII will be here in full 300+hp glory in a year (Motor Trend, March), you can bet we will be getting the STi (personally, I'd get the subbie, but thats something else entirely!) rezdog_420 02-03-2002, 02:41 AM hey crazy, one thing im i lil too young to be racing in the rally cross circuit anyway bud, im only 17. plus the gas mileage figure your reading is a city driving mileage. im not bagging on the M3 at all buddy, i happen to like the BMW autos thank you very much mister cocky. the all-wheel drive thing u talk about, i only praise Subaru for having all of their cars in this format, it doesn't mean i dislike rear-wheel drive at all. fuck i own 4 cars and a truck that are rear-wheel drive, thats including my drag racing 89' Twin Turbo'd 5.0L Mustang that does mid 8's in the quarter mile. one thing is, i have been looked at for a racing team in the near future, but i still have to finish high school first!!! so get off my case!!! i have a racing license from Skip Barber Racing school that i aquired over the summer last year, and thats what i mean by the intensity of Colin McRae, i know how to race cars to there full potential! besides, what do u do for a living crazy, i happen to work in the mechanics area at the Subaru dealership, so thats why i praise the WRX's so much, they are fairly easy to work with opposed to a BMW, but doesnt mean i dont like BMW's. all im saying is that not that many people in the world have $35,000+ to fork out for a brand spanking new M3 from the dealership, and the WRX is a wonderful substitute for people and kids who want a cheaper alternative to something like the M3. truthfully, i wouldn't buy either the WRX or the M3 because the two daily driver cars that i drive would spank both the WRX and the M3 anyday. i own a 83' Mazda RX-7 with a 450hp TPI chevy V-8 with a 6 speed manual, which is my weekend car, and i also own a 96 Nissan 240SX with a turbo kit on it that pushes out 364hp, which i dyno'd 3 weeks ago which is the car i drive everyday, plus i have a S-15 Silvia front end conversion on it for my own personal styling. and to top it off i own a 95 Nissan pickup with a sr20det swap in it to haul my dirtbikes on my days off from work. and of course ive already mentioned my mustang that i drag race. my dad taught me everything i know about auto mechanics since he is the auto tech teacher at our local college. to tell u the truth i am probably the biggest Nissan fan most people have ever seen, i only like to talk about the WRX since i drive one everyday at work for fun, and i have to say the new WRX's are awesome cars for the money, especially for kids around my age. bottom line is both the M3 and WRX are totally awesome cars, but you really cant compare the two of them because they are in two entirely different categories of automobiles, the WRX is a sub-compact sedan or wagon built on the bugdet minded individual, and the M3 is a luxury sedan built for the driving enthusiasts with a little extra cash flow. so get over it, you cant compare these two cars!:newburn: :zx11pisse :finger4: rezdog_420 02-03-2002, 02:55 AM oh yeah crazy about your thing about driving a M3, yes i have! but like i said id rather stick with my 240SX just because i already have it and im a die hard Nissan fan, who wouldn't settle for anything else. the M3 drives very smooth, but it feels too luxurious for my tastes, i like things simple and with one purpose, to be connected with the driver at all times, the BMW has way too many electronics like traction control and stability controls (what they call there steering system?). it too much like the family car for dad when the kids and wife are gone, besides wheres the Recaro race buckets? just kiddin, im used too my Recaro's way too much, that id never have any other kind of seat. im just a typical teen who just doesn't right in a BMW, a cop would probably pull me over thinking im some drug dealer or something driving a new M3!!! haha, but anyway, id like to see a some guy try to whoop my ass racing me in a M3, while im in my 240SX, id spank him like a misbehaved child, no even better, a naughy nurse! haha, that would be the day when some preppy from school tries to race me with his BMW and find out that he spent $40,000 on a car that got its ass beat by a rice rocket!! hahaha, oh ive claimed too many Corvette ZO6's at racing that its impossible for a M3 to ever win!!!:sun: :finger: ImportNut1212 02-03-2002, 11:04 AM sales aren't doing poorly, i dont care where you go, those damn WRX's are sold before they get into the show room. and about the STI and the M3, i would take the STI anyday, the STI is so much more heavily embraced by the aftermarket world....and they can made to look sexy. ImportNut1212 02-03-2002, 11:18 AM ok, i agree with you on the point that no one has $35k+ to throw around for a new M3 (at least our age, i'm 17 too) but you have 4 cars, all modified...heavily, where do you get your money to put an sr20det in a pickup, and a TPI V8 into an rx7, and a turbo 240sx silvia conversion? i mean, shit, with all that you could have bought an M3. rezdog_420 02-03-2002, 02:46 PM where do i get my money, mostly from racing dirtbikes!! i race in the Arenacross events when there here in the west coast, and race all kinds of "A" (pro) class events in the AMA ametuer events which have some killer purse money. i won the 15-17 year old pro class series last year and got a total earnings of $128,000 all from just my motocross career last year, not including any of the years before!!! plus i also drag race and autocross for some serious cash too, so i only build cars that i know will succeed in all my events. plus im one of the head auto mechanics at our local Subaru/GMC/Mazda/Pontiac dealership since we sell all of these cars here, and i get paid at $28.75 an hour for my work so i have all kinds of income coming in. problem is my income tax is incredibly high for most if any kids my age. what im trying to say is, i earned all of my money from my talents in motorsports thank you very much, and wasn't handed down money from my parents (like most kids around here!!!). hell i make just as much money as my dad does in year!!! and he's mad about that, but he also proud of me at the same time! either way, i made myself rich instead of inheriting it from my parents, i just went out in the world and employed myself with the talents i have!!!:finger4: rezdog_420 02-03-2002, 02:59 PM true about your comment on how WRX's are sold fast, i work at the Subaru dealership, and we sell them faster than we even get them in, shit we have a waiting list for them so big that the last person i last looked at on the list wont get his until July this year!! these cars sell incredibly fast and we can never have them on the showroom floor for more than 2 days literally. oh yeah, importnut to tell u the truth these conversions and mods i have on my car are actually fairly cheap, the sr20det swap in my truck cost a total of $3,743 all in total, the TPI swap in my RX-7 cost a little under $5,000, but my 240SX mods is where the big bucks are at, i dont think it would be wise for me to say how much because i would make too many people shit their pants hearing how much money i could easily blow off on a car. but let me tell u, all of my mods and swaps were well worth the money that i invested into them! my Nissan truck has won numerous shows just for the fact i have a sr20det stuffed in there, my RX-7 has won all kinds of illegal drags around my town but i wont say where i live since i dont want cops impounding my car, and my 240SX is my grandest toy car thats in my garage, but the real big money spent is on all of the shit i have done with my dirtbikes, hell each bike i have has over $1,500 worth of motor mods in them, and thats just the motors, but thank god for sponsership!!! crayzayjay 02-05-2002, 02:18 PM im well aware of the fact they sell like hotcakes, did i say they didnt? crayzayjay 02-05-2002, 02:36 PM rezdog, im not on your case about driving skills, i just find it amusing to hear someone claim they can drive with the "intensity of colin mcrae". im sure youre very talented what i do for a living has nothing to do with my opinion on motor vehicles. funny how you referred to m3 owners as "rich punks" in your previous post when you brag of your earning power and list the number of cars you own... and yes, you can compare these cars. just cos one has 2 doors and the other 4 it doesnt mean they are completely different. they are both real-world performance cars in different style packages and therefore price tags. i think the BMW steering system youre referring to is steer-by-wire. if you think the M3 has too many driver aids what are you doing in an impreza? doesnt that sort out the handling for you? isnt it the ultimate flattering vehicle? if you want to feel connected to the road do something about the WRX's steering. then i might think about owning one.. then again, with those looks, maybe not. a car should be styled well from the start, not made to look good. im sorry but i even have to disagree with you about that statement. with those goofy bug eye front lights the new impreza could never be made to look good. i know many Impreza fanatics and we all agree on one simple fact. capable as the car may be (and its not as capable as the previous generation) it is ugly as hell. in fact, the only improvement over the old car i can think of is the interior. cars like the WRX and evo7 can be thrown however you want and the car will sort it out for you. if you like the 2l 4wd package, and i never said i didnt, i have nothing against it, in fact one of my dream cars is the Lancia Integrale EVO. the steering and handling of this car on the limit sh*ts all over that of any impreza. more entertaining to drive, more communication with the driver... oh ya, and its italian too. there are a few posts on it in the Lancia forum. check it out, and follow the link to the video. cheers jay arpiburpi 02-05-2002, 03:10 PM wait, wait my friends..wait till 2003, wait till the lancerevo vii comes to america..wrx sti will go down.. rezdog_420 02-06-2002, 01:15 AM did i refer to M3 drivers as "rich punks," you must of heard my statement wrong crazy, im talkin about they ounk rich kids in my town who get their money from mommy and daddy and get all the brand new fuckin shit, with pisses of the rest of kids who have to earn their goods the hard way, THROUGH HARD WORK!!! u truthfully dont know how hard i busted my ass as a kid to get where im at, people stereotype me as this lil rich punks just because i drive nice cars, wear nice clothes, and have hot girls going with me to the parties. and that statement about me being in a WRX, i have to drive them! thats part of my job smartguy, u always have to test out each of the new incoming cars to the dealership, and u even have to drive each of the cars after they have been in the shop, but of course u knew this right??? and another thing, the cars that i autocross dont have any power steering either, thats the way a car should be built in the first place, the only car i own that has power steering is my 96 Nissan 240SX! a car without ABS brakes, power steering, or even cruise control that has well over 300 HP is a car that perfectly fits the description of a true sports car! thats what my RX-7 is! u think i haven't heard enough ridicule already, i get so much bitching from the die hard RX-7 fans, just because i stuffed a V-8 between the front fenders, they all say the same god damn thing to me, "why didn't u put in a 13B, or a 3 rotor 20B, or even a 4 rotor enigine?" if i own a 93 RX-7 instead of an 83, i would of taken the 20B triple rotary in perspective, but tell me if im a criminal or what, but how many people would like it if your rotary goes dead in the middle of nowhere with no one around to fix your rotary for 1000 miles away! with any kind of V-block engine in it, i can at least have Chevy guys work on it, and i could easily fix it myself too! the problem is there aren't too many people in the world like me that dare to be totally different. and for all those people out there like me, who can care less what other people think about your opinions, i would have to say you guys kick fuckin ass!! too many people are afraid to do anything different these days, half of my school parking lot is filled with tuned Hondas, all mostly Civics and maybe an Integra here and there, but u see all the same cars just with different styling or tuning, but the same damn car. literally every kid owns like a 92-00 Honda Civic, all mostly 2 door coupes and nothing else really. i couldn't be apart of this, i had to be my own trend setter, so i got my Nissan 240SX, the first day i rolled up to school in it, people dissed me badly just because i didn't have a fuckin Honda Civic. the funny thing is, now that im spankin all of these damn Honda's right and left with my turbo'd 240SX, a lot of kids are trying to do the same as me, now instead of me being the only kid in school with a 240SX, now there are 13 different 240's in the parking lot, even worse its the same damn kids that used to have Civics. the point of this story is that it doesn't matter if u have a WRX or a M3, or Porsche at that, people all start to fall into a trend cycle, Crazy, u probably used to like the WRX alot before they changed the styling on it, and u then fell in love with the M3 with its new sweet styling. im glad to see that u truthfully aren't one of these people though Crazy, im glad u do have an ultimate dream car like me (which is a Nissan Skyline R34). to tell u the truth i hate even having to argue which car is better, like are lil arguement between the WRX and the M3, we both know that both cars are fuckin sweet, drive fast, and definately turn eyes and smiles as they go by. quick question for ya Crazy, what kind of car are u rollin in these days, just curious to know???:bonghitte crayzayjay 02-06-2002, 02:49 PM You seemed to be aiming the rich punks quote to people who would choose the more expensive M3 over the WRX, thats what it comes across like, to me anyway. And yeah, i know the cars are driven by employees. A friend of mine works for M-B and always seems to have a nice convertible he's cruising in. I didnt make any or smartass comments about you driving a WRX, all i said was that if you want a car that truly communicates with its driver there are better alternatives out there. "too many people are afraid to do anything different these days".. youre very right there. Thats why there are a lot of Imprezas around now, around here anyway. im not blaming the owners, its just that the car has become the automatic choice for teenagers who want something quick. I personally am not a big fan of Imprezas. I respect what they do and what they stand for to some extent, but thats about it. i was more appreciative of the old car than the new one. that one was more engaging and much better looking too, though no oil painting itself. I "choose to be different" by going for an Integrale, which can do what the Impreza can and more, in a much more stylish package. about your nissan skyline, have you driven one? i wouldnt have thought it to be your kind of car, what with you wanting a raw driving experience. the R34 induces oversteer, it's programmed to do so, which i find pretty disappointing about the car. Still, theres no doubt its a hell of a fast car, though im sorry to say i dont like the looks on it either. its just too cartoonish for me. too much of a brute with no finesse whatsoever. i'd take a 964RS (one of the most amazing cars ever) 996GT3 or 993GT2 over it anyday, i'd even choose the integrale EVO above it despite the fact its 4 times cheaper. the whole japanese invasion has been too much, IMHO. from what i hear the evo7 is a one trick poney, the R34 flawed (as described above) and the WRX has lost its way somewhat. admittedly the STi is supposed to be a big improvement but the looks could never grown me. right now im driving a mk3 1.6 Golf. I know, not exactly tyre-shredding or rubber-burning, but i still manage to drive it like a hooligan :D. Handbrake turns here i come! hopefully within the next 6 months i'll have the finances to buy a prime '95 Lagos Blu Lancia Delta Integrale EVO or perhaps an E36 M3 EVO. Only time, and cash, will tell. Otherwise, i'll go for something else, as long as it's "different" cheers jay border_project 02-15-2002, 01:01 PM isnt the m3 a sports coupe?? or are we talking about the m5 sedan?? other than that...i would like the version V impreza or the lancer evo 5 or 6. rezdog_420 02-15-2002, 04:42 PM if we were talkin about the m5 i would not complain at all, it by far the most fuckin awesome car ever built! crayzayjay 02-17-2002, 09:01 PM As awesome as a GT3, or Maranello ? .......didnt think so :D cheers, jay rezdog_420 02-18-2002, 10:33 AM but those arent as awesome as a Mclaren F1 either:o the M5 is a sweet ride that has 4 doors, room for 5 peps, and isnt priced over $100K either!:sun: rezdog_420 02-18-2002, 10:39 AM but like i stated on another thread, "the automotive industry is based on personal preference, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions." hell, if i had millions of dollars than hell yeah id buy my a Porsche GT3, but since im not even near that kind level yet i have to settle with my rice rockets, and american muscle cars! thats why i tune the hell out of my cars to get the most, other said the bang for the buck, from my rides. crayzayjay 02-18-2002, 03:19 PM Well u did say its the most awesome car ever, which doesnt quite resonate with what you are saying now.... besides, an M5 is hardly cheap. and when it comes to GT3's, M5's and GT3's arent priced so differently over here. M5 is approx Ģ50k and GT3 is around Ģ70k, so i would save up the extra, take out a loan, do whatever to get my hands on the Porsche. cheers, jay rezdog_420 02-19-2002, 01:33 AM well not here in America, an M5 ususally runs for $80,000 and a GT3 runs for more than $150,000 here! so your the lucky one on this. crayzayjay 02-19-2002, 12:24 PM well, luckier than you, maybe. but not lucky as i cant afford either! cheers, jay ImportNut1212 02-19-2002, 08:41 PM i respect porsches and all, but look at all of the people who drive them....middle aged bald men. i like the company, but have always seen it as kind of a substitute for a lack of confidance or manhood. i know you guys are gonna jump all over my nuts for that, but oh well.....to each his own right? crayzayjay 02-19-2002, 11:12 PM well, thats your opinion and youre entitled to it. however, if porsches are manhood subsitutes then that can be said of just about all sports cars, so i dont agree with that statement the fact that there seem to be 40 year old guys driving porsches is simply due to the fact that they are expensive cars and people cannot usually afford them until later in their careers in the periods of success. that can be said of pretty much all expensive cars. you dont see too many kids driving around in Porsches and Ferrari's, not here anyway. cheers, jay n1m3 02-28-2002, 07:00 PM hey rezdog..m3 own u:flipa: crayzayjay 02-28-2002, 07:52 PM what a clever msg, i'm proud of you kid, really i am n1m3 03-01-2002, 05:47 PM i kno, i was jus sick of his stupid ass comments. doesnt even know what he is saying. the m3 is the ultimate driving machine. it is uncomparable to cars like these. i have both the wrx and the m3 so i would kno. if u dont believe me ive left 2 links for u http://n1m3.iwarp.com http://funkdok.iwarp.com/wrxpics.htm n1m3 ImportNut1212 03-02-2002, 03:07 AM i looked at your wrx website, and you look pretty young....how did you afford to buy a wrx AND a brand new M3??? hopefully mommy and daddy didnt buy it for you..... crayzayjay 03-02-2002, 11:25 AM errr... i was being sarcastic.... did everyone else miss that too? For what its worth i would take the M3 too SirRacer 03-02-2002, 09:36 PM u guys dont get the evolution lancer do u? these things own wrx's my mates gsr lancer(not even evo) beats wrx's all the time fullboost.com.au for specs Euro19 03-03-2002, 07:08 PM Originally posted by SirRacer u guys dont get the evolution lancer do u? these things own wrx's my mates gsr lancer(not even evo) beats wrx's all the time fullboost.com.au for specs I know, thatīs right. We get the Evo here too ImportFreak 03-03-2002, 09:21 PM SCREW U GUYS WHO GET THE EVOS!!!  j/p rezdog_420 03-05-2002, 12:38 PM shit id take a M3 over a WRX anyday too, but thats only if money is no object. if i had to buy either one, id buy a WRX and mod the shit out of it with the money left that i would of have to spent on the M3. dont get me wrong i love both these cars, but to make n1m3 happy, its true i like the M3 better, for obvious reasons, its much more faster stock, and its a lot more luxurious. but since i already own 4 cars of my own anyway, i think im gonna pass on both the WRX and M3, for now at least. besides with a 240SX like mine, who needs another car!!!:silly2: rezdog_420 03-05-2002, 12:40 PM oh yeah n1m3, where did u get the money to buy both a brand new M3 and a WRX anyway??? i know how i got my money, through hard work! did u run to daddy and have him buy these toys for u, if so, than your a pussy ass bitch! Lord_Vektra 03-05-2002, 02:48 PM we should be getting the EVOs soon from what I understand, and as good at the WRX's and as much as I want one an M coupe is still my car of choice and the fact that you are even having to pull the $50,000 M3 to compare the $24,000 WRX proves how good the WRX is. if I paid twice as much for a car and it DIDENT do better I would be pissed. S Brake 03-05-2002, 07:37 PM Originally posted by F20C How many WRX owner really take their car for off road usage? for me taking it off road = rally, and i know a lot of people that do that in their soobies. rezdog_420 03-06-2002, 12:42 PM thats the number one reason why i would buy the WRX over the M3, i can take the car off-road and not worry too much about fuckin up my ride. i live up in the mountains of Nor Cali and alot of the roads up here are dirt, besides i need an AWD car for when i go snowboarding up at Tahoe or Shasta, and with a M3, i would have to pull over put the chains on. now if i lived in a city like San Fran, or LA i would defineatly buy me a M3, but since i live up in Redwood country, i need a car much like the WRX. n1m3 03-10-2002, 05:35 PM first of all, you ppl have no idea who i am. i own 15 business' running from here all the way to europe. thats how i make my money. and for ur info my parents live in veil and i havent seen them for over 4 years. so FUCK YOU and shutup b4 u open ur dumbass mouths. fuckin dumbshits n1m3 auswrx 03-10-2002, 06:01 PM Yeah, that sounds like someone who own's 15 business:rolleyes: . No need for the attacks fool, they were only asking. Again when you compare these cars, money becomes a major factor and as always the wrx would win. You could buy three wrx's and they could all be modified and still would be cheaper then a M3. The M3 is a great car, it's a bimmer so that's what you would expect, but it only suits some people and when it's pissing down outside let's see which car is faster:) . Driving around the city. going around tight/small corners, let's see which car is more practable. The M3 is more of a touring car, the wrx a boy racer type car. But! If money isn't a factor, why would you buy a M3? buy 5 ferrari's and drive one for each day:p . crayzayjay 03-10-2002, 07:10 PM n1m3> It's 15 businesses, not 15 business', whatever that's supposed to mean. I hope you're not running all of these businesses by yourself, and oh yeah, i hope your PA checks your spelling too. btw, what business is it that you do? cheers, jay ImportNut1212 03-10-2002, 11:49 PM n1m3 sounds a lil bit defensive towards a simple, non-malicious question. i'm raisin that mighty BS flag......god knows he'll bitch, or at least his "secretary" will. on to the matter at hand though........................ I would rather take the WRX. take the money you would save from that, and mod the hell out of it. it'll probably smoke M3's after that. just my $.02 crayzayjay 03-11-2002, 03:56 PM 15 businesses "running all the way to Europe" :cwn27: Time to raise the BS flag indeed :hehe: I propose that we nominate n1m3 for International BS Award Of The Year. I just realised that ImportFreak:p . Um, i meant monday-friday:D ... So embarrassed now:o . ImportNut1212 03-11-2002, 11:54 PM n1m3 has all but disappeared......probably running scared with his tail between his legs. or maybe his "secratary for his 15 business'" is on a vacation and she couldnt type up his reply for him. crayzayjay 03-12-2002, 03:10 PM n1m3 has all but disappeared......probably running scared with his tail between his legs. or maybe his "secratary for his 15 business'" is on a vacation and she couldnt type up his reply for him. come on now.. thats just silly.. the guy runs 15 businesses he has to have more than one secretary!!! :D :D .. im sure he has a whole team of secretaries just itching to respond ;) cheers, jay 75sausage 03-13-2002, 05:28 PM WRX wins in an Impreza forum... hmmm.... M3 is inching its way behind though. I wonder how this poll would turn out in the real world? :bloated: crayzayjay 03-13-2002, 10:20 PM I dont see why so few people vote... every poll has a low number of votes compared with the number of times it has been viewed. Get voting, people! auswrx 03-13-2002, 11:19 PM The poll is closed isn't it? crayzayjay 03-14-2002, 08:12 PM ehehehehe..... it seems to be closed indeed. However, even some of the open polls get too few votes with relation to the number of times the post has been read rezdog_420 03-20-2002, 12:56 PM hey fuckin idiot, us people in this forum have one thing in common, we value respect. SHUT YOUR FUCKIN ASSHOLE OF A MOUTH, and show respect! rezdog_420 03-20-2002, 01:04 PM n1m3, looks like u won the BS award of the year punk. he emailed me and said he was a student at UCLA, BULLSHIT. i think he's probably some punk teenage kid who wants to be someone, but he isn't. and like i said, that little shit needs to show us people in the forum some respect, 15 businesses my ass!!! border_project 03-22-2002, 12:23 AM 15 businesses. geez. thats almost impossible to own and maintain. even if you do own that much businesses, im pretty sure people who really do own that many talks in a more mature language. also the m3 picture seems like you just went to your local bmw dealer and took a picture of it. if you want to go around being all cocky and stuff, do it some where else. this is AF, we dont go around doing these stuff. we're all here to learn new things. anywho. i would buy a wrx because i live by mountain. snows so its better. i would get a m3 if i live in california or somewhere where there is no snow. rezdog_420 03-22-2002, 11:56 AM your a lil wrong about that statement border_project, i live in Northern California up in the Redwoods and a M3 wouldn't survive on the roads i drive on a daily basis. but u are absolutly right about getting a WRX for the mountains, i work at our local Subaru dealership and drive WRX's pretty much drive WRX's everyday for fun. my co-workers and I race them around the parking lot and around town when we are not busy. this summer when i probably sell both my 240SX and my RX-7, i'll either buy me a WRX or an Audi A4 1.8T. ive driven both, but its too hard to decide on which one, i think im pushing more on the WRX's side since it's much more powerful. i need an AWD car since my Nissan pick-up since its only RWD, and i love to snowboard from late November to April if the snow is awesome up at Tahoe, or Shasta. which of these two cars would u take, or recommend to me? Chris 03-22-2002, 04:10 PM I fixed the pole, it was only up for 5 days, not nearly long enough. n1m3 04-02-2002, 11:57 PM hey guys im back. and if u fucks dont believe me the corporations name is ZANKOU CHICKEN. there is one in van nuys, pasa, glendale, lebanon, etc etc. and honestly u guys should keep ur mouth shut if u dont kno what ur saying, iiteee. so fuck offfff ill go drive in both my m3 and my works n1m3 :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: crayzayjay 04-03-2002, 10:06 AM ok then. i have a very good friend who lives in lebanon. where is your office based there? end this shit right here and now. give me the name of the company and the address. if it doesnt check out, you're full of shit. if it does, everyone here owes you an apology. no excuses Oh and btw, 15 businesses is not the same as one business with offices in no matter how many countries. plus i doubt its a corporation if its a small restaurant chain. rezdog_420 04-03-2002, 12:08 PM i still find it hard to believe anyone could at his age could run 15 businesses, since my mom and her partner are tired as hell just running there single business! oh yeah, n1m3, look at the polls, looks like the people do favor the WRX more, not that im not saying the M3 isn't good, but u have to remember that there are alot of people like me who live in the mountains, where dirt roads are very predominate, and a M3 would get thrashed driving on these kinds of roads. now if the WRX had a 6-speed manual like the M3 and an onboard GPS navigation system like the BMW's, id be going to work today and purchasing a WRX, but id rather what for the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO to come to America. actually if the M3 had AWD like the WRX, i would definately go get one right now, so when it comes time for snowboarding season again, i wouldn't have to drive my dad's 4x4 Chevy pickup to Tahoe. rezdog_420 04-03-2002, 12:10 PM oh yeah, N1M3, about your fuckin gay ass statement, I OWN YOU, you dont fuckin own shit compared to me sucka! you can talk all the shit u want, but u dont have a real life like i do, u just have your fuckin made up one!! haha, fuckin idiot! n1m3 04-04-2002, 01:23 AM hey, fuckdog whatever ur name is. i FUCKIN OWN YOU. if u wanna meet up so i can beat ur ass jus tell me the place and time. ill fuckin kill you. the zankou in gdale is on verdugo and colorado. the one in van nuys is on sepulveda and burbank. the list goes on. the one in lebanon im not exactly sure cuz my grandfather runs. so if u wanna go and find it be my fuckin guest better for me. hey and all u shits who think the m3 is a more practical car...:silly2: :silly2: u ppl make me sick. FUCK OFF n1m3 n1m3 04-04-2002, 01:29 AM ohh yea, and when i meant 15 i was exagerating there are 4 different locations... crayzayjay 04-04-2002, 01:42 PM oh i see.... you dont even know where one of your 4 restaurants is based... my ass youre running any sh*t!!! sounds to me like youre a little brat whose daddy runs a few restaurants, making you believe you run a global corporation... get over it chump n1m3 04-04-2002, 08:20 PM hahaha, u got nothin to say cuz u know that i wasnt bullshiting. hey fucker u get over it and accept that u were jus OWNED. M3 OVER WORKS ANY DAY BITCH. n1m3 ImportNut1212 04-04-2002, 08:49 PM are you serious n1m3? do you really expect us to believe that you have all the cars you say that you do.....but you cant keep track of how many business you "own"??? i doubt your daddy even owns a few restaurants. stop lying to us, this is a place to exchange information and debate, not bullshit around and try to pump up your already lacking self esteem. n1m3 04-04-2002, 11:05 PM look u shit, i dont kno where u came from. if u dont believe me, i listed the street names where my business is located. ull probably see my cars there. i usually help out when i dont have skool. so fuck off and stop fuckin around. u say u dont believe me, if u have the balls go check it out. http://n1m3.hypermart.net n1m3 n1m3 04-04-2002, 11:06 PM my bad, its http://n1m3.iwarp.com n1m3 04-05-2002, 02:38 AM one more thing. have u read the polls at all. whats the best sporty sedan out there. i dont think they make an e46 m3 sedan so u morons better re-think ur decisions. fuckin shits ZANKOU ROCKS LjasonL 04-05-2002, 02:59 AM Originally posted by F20C How many WRX owner really take their car for off road usage? :hehe: :hehehe: http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/971938frontwater.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/707379backwater.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/535645insidemud.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/143418frontmud.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/119326drivermud.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/108266passengermud.JPG LjasonL 04-05-2002, 03:03 AM Originally posted by n1m3 one more thing. have u read the polls at all. whats the best sporty sedan out there. i dont think they make an e46 m3 sedan so u morons better re-think ur decisions. fuckin shits ZANKOU ROCKS u yourself should read the poll cuz it doesnt say "e46 m3" it says "m3" Lord_Vektra 04-05-2002, 11:24 AM Originally posted by n1m3 look u shit, i dont kno where u came from. if u dont believe me, i listed the street names where my business is located. ull probably see my cars there. i usually help out when i dont have skool. so fuck off and stop fuckin around. u say u dont believe me, if u have the balls go check it out. http://n1m3.hypermart.net n1m3 you know for someone who owns all these business you would think he would have a better developed vocabulary. ImportNut1212 04-07-2002, 12:25 PM ok this is completely off the topic of the forum, but i have a question for you rezdog....i'm thinkin of maybe getting a 94-96 240sx and swapping an sr20det into it. what version of the sr20det should i get? i've read a few places that it doesnt really matter, i could get the s14 or s13 and put a few mods on it and it would be more powerful than the s15 spec r. and also, they're pretty reliable engines right? if you have any other general information, rather than posting (or post if you want to, no matter) could you email me if its not too much trouble? lmax431@hotmail.com thanx a lot in advance man. LjasonL 04-07-2002, 06:34 PM the earlier version sr20det's from the s13 silvias and 180sx's have a high port head that is better for ultimate power production, but the s14 and s15's have variable intake timing and the s15 has 444cc injectors as opposed to s13 and s14 having 370cc. for a stock motor or a daily driver, an s14 or s15 motor is better due to the better stock turbo and the variable intake timing, but for pure power production, the s13's high port head is better. that help ya any? ImportNut1212 04-08-2002, 05:18 PM thanks idelaysionl, and yeah it did help. so in your opinion you would get either the s14, or s15 because it drives better? i have one more question, i've heard froma few people and websites that the engines dont come with air conditioning compressors, does that mean i wont have any AC in my future car? and you wouldnt happen to know anything about making it emissions legal for missouri? lol, sorry, i know i'm asking alot. thanks again man. Chris 04-08-2002, 07:31 PM If you get really desperate for emissions, just go to a junkyard, find some crashed cars, and take their catalytic converters. Weld them together in a really crappy way, pass emissions, then put on your own exhaust after. Really time consuming and a big headache, but it would work (here it would anyway) LjasonL 04-09-2002, 01:02 AM if u purchase an entire front clip instead of just the motor, then u will have a/c (if the silvia youre getting the clip from had a/c) also with a front clip u get all the wiring harnesses, hoses and piping, and everything else u need, and u get to see how it all sits in the engine bay, its a lot easier than just buying a motor. look in the new issue of sport compact car they have a whole article on building a 240sx into a silvia, and ive been researching it a lot lately cuz i think when i get a little money built up im gonna build one. im gonna use the s13 motor, and upgrade the turbo system and injectors cuz its pretty much just gonna be a race car and play around car for me, but if it was gonna be my daily driver i would probably get the s14 or s15 cuz its a better stock motor. and as for emissions, i dunno try what chris said, i dont have to worry about emissions around here :D n1m3 04-09-2002, 04:40 AM honestly, it doesnt matter what any of u say. all of u are low life losers who spend most of ur time in front of ur stupid little computer in ur 100k$ house. im sorry to say that ur parents werent sucessful and sorry that all of u are FUCKERS. if im lying, why dont u check it out for urself. if u had the balls u would have done it by now. im sorry i dont check the damn forum everyday and look for u dumbshit responses. so ill probably get back to u shits in a couple days after skool. and u shit, u think u can kick my ass...lol. why dont u come to southern cali and ill kik ur ass back to sacramento or wherever u come from u shit. i own all of you. FUCKERS :flipa: :flipa: :flipa: n1m3 04-09-2002, 04:41 AM im sorry "successful" for all u fucks who were gonna correct me LjasonL 04-09-2002, 05:02 AM wow isnt that exactly the type of mature and intelligent response you would expect a successful business owner to give? crayzayjay 04-09-2002, 05:30 AM this is the last time i reply to you. grow up for a second and realise the kind of stuff youre writing on here. look at your attitude when you came in and youll understand why you got the reaction you did. we are not losers, we are simply members of a forum about cars, which is what it is supposed to be about. if youre gonna keep talking about kicking peoples asses, we dont want you here, or anyone else who writes that kind of stuff. oh and btw, you dont want to bring a wealth war into it: 1) you'll lose. theres always someone with more money than you. and: 2) its stupid Moppie 04-09-2002, 05:44 AM Oh dear, It looks like n1m3 won't be joining us any more. What a shame.  Lord_Vektra 04-09-2002, 11:22 AM :( I will miss the 11yr olds running around :D thanks moppie n1m3s back 04-10-2002, 12:22 AM hey watsup u shits. lolll. you ppl kicked me off. thats some funny shit. you have the audacity to do something stupid like that and arent capable of handling my insults. are u ppl scared? i told you where i am, where i work. any of you mother fuckers that step into my business and face me like a real man, i will write a check for 1000 dollars. i dare any of you. and where did this all start from? i have no idea. i bet you, u all are a bunch of fuckin retards with downsyndrome who sit in front of a forum all day cuz they cant get pussy outside of their own family tree. do u ppl get out of ur 100k houses? i fuckin write ur parents paychecks. you all are lowclass morons, who are scared to hear the real truth. you all kno the m3 is uncomparable to the wrx. ur jus scared that i corrected you, and u feel insulted. thats why you kicked me. you all wish u had a m3. im sorry your parents live on a 5 figure yearly salary. if you have something to say to me, have some nuts and tell me to my face. you scared pussy's. acting all hard behind ur little computer. haha. i own all of you. N1M3 is back of course it is, it cost $30k more ImportNut1212 04-11-2002, 07:35 AM see, but your wrong there, the wrx doesnt compare to the m3. sure the m3 is an awesome road car, but as soon as the track becomes dirt/gravel/snow, the wrx will blow the m3's doors off. so in my opinion, the wrx is a more well rounded car. and n1m3, get the fuck over yourself. what is the name of your business? and please, keep straight how many you have, cause i know business men have trouble keeping track of unimportant shit like that  why do you insist on harrasing everyone, we know your 13, we know your full of shit with your "business" so just stop, no one gives a shit any more. Chris 04-11-2002, 09:52 AM I banned him again, but he will keep registering, so if you see him again, let one of us know;) S Brake 04-13-2002, 03:16 PM What an intelligent human being. did the moron actually give the his home address out or just where his "empire" is located? just let me know where it is because i'll be in big bear lake and most likely vista CA in the summer and i'll take his $1000 check and defecate on it. and people wonder why americans are hated "for no good reason" get a life! TRD300EX14 04-25-2002, 10:34 PM Who the flip is that kid n1m3? That has got to be the gayest kid I have ever seen. I mean, for all he says about his so called "busineses", wouldn't he be a little bit better with his vocabulary and writing skills or something like that? Plus, having restaurants like that is the lamest thing I have ever heard. And what's he mean 100k houses? Every house cost over 100K. And to tell the truth, his dad isn't successful if he started a chicken restaurant, unless he's a great cook (which I doubt because it looks as if his businesses are drive throughs). I live in NJ and my dad was very successful but I don't boast about it to everyone and I don't use his money for things (except he is buying my first car, which I will have in about 5 to 9 months). My father owns 2 dealerships. Muller Toyota in Clinton, NJ and Muller Chevrolet in Stewartsville, NJ. He isn't a Subaru dealer, but I'm still getting a WRX. My father is also the president of TDA, which is Toyota Dealers Association for the New York Region and is a very busy man. Now, don't think I am saying how great I am or how great my dad is, but I'm trying to say is that some people like n1m3 think they are all that when they have some little restaurant thing, and then there are others like me that say, "Yea me family owns 2 car dealerships, but I don't think I'm great, I'm a normal kid that likes cars and respects others about their jobs or whatever." The way I get my money is that I have a job at Toyota, I'm a car detailer. Anyway, the WRX is sweeet. I was either getting a Celica GT-S, an Acura RSX Type S, or the WRX. The Celica is to slow, I found that you can't change the head unit in the RSX, the radio shit is built straight into the dash, so I was left with the WRX. Now, I don't know much about the BMW's, but if I did, I wouldn't want one. No matter what money I had, they aren't cool compared to other cars such as a WRX, Z06, Evo VII, or the Supra. But I mean, they don't even make the Supra anymore, plus it was alot of money, so I wouldn't want it. I do want the Evo VII, that is my favorite car and always will be. That is known to beat Mustangs, Cameros, Vettes, WRX's, anything. Now I'm not saying it's the best, but it's a decent car. I hate when people brag about one car like some people on the forum. Hope to have not of gotten anyone pissed. Oh yea, for proof, go to www.mullertoyota.com or www.mullerchevrolet.com and you'll see pics of my dad and relatives. My name is Billy Muller. crayzayjay 04-26-2002, 02:27 PM hello billy i bet you a million bucks the EVO 7 will not be your favourite car forever :D and Bimmers are cooler than any of the cars you mentioned :D welcome to AF cheers, jay Chris 04-26-2002, 02:51 PM Originally posted by crayzayjay and Bimmers are cooler than any of the cars you mentioned :D 'coolness' is in the eye of the beholder. I find the M3, M5, M roadster and M coupe (geez, I could have just said the 'M' cars and taken a lot less time:D ) to be really cool. But I like the WRX STi and EVO VII better, and the Z06 is also cooler. Just goes to show that another mans trash is another mans treasure (not that any of the cars mentioned are trash:cool: ) TRD300EX14 04-26-2002, 04:40 PM See as soon as somebody mentions that this car is cool, another person takes them out saying, "those cars suck." Those are my opinions right now. First off, I have never driven any yet and will someday, then I may change my mind. I love the inside of those cars though, they are sweeet. I never said I hated BWM's either, I said I like the WRX and EVO VII better. And believe me, I will always like the EVO VII, it will always be one of my favorites. the_NuBee 04-26-2002, 10:38 PM wrx is getting old now.. i had my wrx for a year now... and i think i should have gotten the m3 .. looks betta.. but expensiver.. eh.. MOG_22 04-26-2002, 10:57 PM WRX getting old? You must not be using it to it's full potential. Go autocrossing and then we'll see what you say. MOG_22 04-26-2002, 10:59 PM True, the M3 is a really nice car, but it's, what, twice as expensive as the WRX, plus you can't go autocrossing. It's pricey to tune the M3 as well, so you'll be spending quite a bit. With the difference in price alone for both cars stock, you could tweak the WRX to a monster. rezdog_420 04-27-2002, 02:11 PM u think your WRX is getting old, shit my 83' RX-7 is old but it will still stomp the shit out of anyone in town with the V-8 stuffed under it. i recommend you should take your WRX to a COBB TUNING specialist, and get the RT package for your scooby. They can make a WRX almost as fast as a stock Dodge Viper GTS! I can also say that after test driving both the E46 M3 and WRX, u made a wise choice with buying the WRX, it might not be a bimmer, but it still hauls ass with the right parts and tuning. Explore the potential of your WRX and you will understand why I say u made a wise choice in cars! USDM wrx's can hit 13's stock and theyre only 227 hp renault clio sport v6 MSRP is $33,990, thats about $10k more than the wrx youre my hero  MARKUSIUDIUS 06-03-2002, 04:19 AM Super Spec V I drive a lude tosser and on the track It goes around Phillip island in 1.54 minutes while the standard rexs are doing 2.02minutes and a standard Type R is doing it in 1.59 minutes, So bring it you straight line traffic jammer. And dont be to smart and mess with what you cannot see. Me and the car. Also Idelaysionl The wrc cup is mostly dirt I forget that you dont have tar yet! Now pricing in Austaralia. A Wrx is $41,500, a Sti $55,130, a Clio sport $33,990, a Type R (the last model when new) $43,000. And i am not biased towards hondas the new type R and prelude sux, I am thinking on buying a GT Forrester and extracting around 300hp for the wifes car. I only say whats what. By the way you guys dont even get our HSV holden range there like driving a Nascar cross Indy car (for real) Four door sedans supercharged or not, V8s up to 410hp between $40,000 to $90,000 and yes they tare Sti's a new asshole. And no my figures are not correct a standard 160kw or 217hp wrx has never broken into the 13s they average between 14.4 to over 15s on 95 ron fuel driven by some of our best drivers in our best mags. An Sti is 195kw down from the 206kw to 265hp and they have only once hit a 13.9, they average 14.2 secs. We also have a APS 255kw or 347hp Sti that does it in 13.4 on 98ron fuel. All the best :flash: Moppie 06-03-2002, 04:57 AM Your fighting an uphill battle here Mark. But he is right. In fact it might even be worth digging up, or even buying one a mag and scanning in the articles to prove it. Super Spec V If you really think your car made it into the 13s with only 227hp then lets see the Time slip, on a Photo of the standard engine. Anyone can make claims online about how fast thier car is, but at the moment you and Mr delusional sound like your talking a whole lot of hot air, and with nothing substantial to back it up. And you seriously over estimate how fast a WRX is, and seriously under estimate how fast a Type-R teg is. In standard factory spec the Type-R is faster on a track, quite simply they weigh less and have a more track friendly suspension set up. Iv been at a track day where a new 99 model STi was being well and truely thrashed by a local race driver. (Mark Parsons, (won the Targa Tasmania in 2wd class several years running)). He then drove a stock standard 98 Prelude on the same track and recorded times only a few seconds slower than the WRX. (both were running mid to low 1:50s, while the Lotus Elises there were doing low 1:50s to high 1:40s) And this is just for Mark, I chased a new Clio Sport home the other day, it still had the dealer plates on it. I was quite impressed with how well it went, however I had no trouble keeping up with him, and actualy gained quite strongly on him on a long up hill corner. (speeds in excess of 150kph  ) and ldelaysionl were talking about the 2L 4cly FWD clio sport, not the V6 Williams Clio sport. (which there is no way even a 22b will keep up with) Gonthrax 06-03-2002, 03:19 PM I'm going to have to throw in my vote agianst stock WRXs in the high 13s. I've heard it alot, but only on the net, I've never seen in happen on the track and it's far fetched enough that that's what it's going to take. I don't wanna call any one a liar but I won't beleave it untill I see it. While the WRX is a quick car it's range of quickness is limited to 0-80, so on a track it will perform well comming out of low speed corners but when speeds are higher it will be left behind. Especially by cars manufacturer rated HP at the crank is close to the WRXs because (in the ITR or 'lude's case) they are 2wd so there is less driveline loss. As for handeling, I think I read somthing like .89 on the skidpad, which is all right and the WRX is no slouch when it comes to handeling, I know I've driven one so I have to give it that. MARKUSIUDIUS 06-04-2002, 05:01 AM Maybe I was a bit harsh on saying they handle like crap. As a stock car they are quite fine I retract the previous statements but on a track I always say bye, bye to the Sti's. All the best :flash: Super Spec V 06-04-2002, 08:26 AM Each car mentioned in this thread was built by the manufacturer for different reasons. In the case of the WRX...this is a rally car. In the case of the ITR..this is a track car. They all have different setups for different applications. BUT... no matter waht anyone tells me...there is now way in hell that a stock ITR or stock prelude will ever beat a standard stock WRX or STI on any track or any application, and if you wanna start comparing cars that are setup for track (ITR) VS. cars that are setup for rally (WRX)...no problem. Bring your prelude on the rally circuit, and well see whos hot and whos not. Your lemon gas prelude will get dusted. BTW as soon as i get a chance to get back on the track, i will run my car...agian in the 1/4, and i will gladly post the 13 second time slip, and then i will post the low 15 maybe high 14 second time slip of my neighbours ITR. I know I know...until you see it you wont belive it. Well guess what...i seen it and i drove, SO THERFORE I BELEIBE IT:flash: :finger: :flash: Moppie 06-04-2002, 11:57 PM Originally posted by Super Spec V Well guess what...i seen it and i drove, SO THERFORE I BELEIBE IT:flash: :finger: :flash: Prehaps you should learn how to spell it as well? I believe its possible you could be doing 13s, but its either not on the 1/4, or your car is no longer standard. And the WRX like the ITR and the prelude is built as a street car. IF you ever get to see a WRC WRX they are VERY differnt from the street car version. It not built as a Rally car. You can not take your WRX and simply go rallying in it. Not even a 22b is ready to be just thrown into a rally straight from the show room floor.l MARKUSIUDIUS 06-05-2002, 05:41 AM I dont have time for this crap. So if you want to talk send me a personal message with the proof of the 13 barrier. Also you obviously do not know shit about cars, how old are you 13 was it. Listen what ever you say to people about the times down the quarter in a standard wrx, there has always been thousands before you. Dont let the Gtec play games with you when youre creeping from the line. I have been into this shit for along time and if you did have a stock 13 barrier WRX it is the only one in the world, get it. Even the jap spec is a low 14 bitch. Plus what octane fuel do you have? 110ron?. The other night I was hammering right behind a GTR down the freeway at over 130 mph, sounds good but in most cases it never really happened. But in mine it did, so please do not talk, provide. Im sure your not a bad fellar you just love telling porkie pies. All the best :flash: P.S. Please complete your words as the Type R as I said 2000 model kicks the current model Wrx (both standard). Please listen. Also I would never drive on the dirt in the lude but on the Tar yes it does wip the new and old Sti. LjasonL 06-05-2002, 09:52 AM from car-stats.com... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/134203wrxf.JPG yes thats right, they list the 227hp US wrx at 14.1. as everyone knows, its possible to run faster times than what magazines publish under good enough track conditions, and with a good driver who is used to the car. magazine drivers are only testing the car and dont live with it on a daily basis, getting used to each and every one of its little quirks and learning how to extract the absolute most possible performance out of it. i dont care how good a driver u are, u HAVE to spend time in a car before u can get the most out of it. have u ever tried to launch a wrx? do u know how hard it is to get off the line quickly without stalling? it takes a LOT of time to get it down enough to be able to do that. but, even without spending the time necessary to get used to launching it, C&D STILL managed a 14.1 in it. once again i repeat, thats the 227hp US spec wrx. do u still think the 276hp STi cant hit 13's? just because everyone youve ever seen in one is a crappy driver is no reson to blame the car for it. After breakin he procided to race everything that moved:o But didn't seem to have any problems with it. Oh and btw, lets keep in mind that those hp figures are, like all other manufacturer figures, at the crank (or fly) and with the 4wd you have plenty of driveline loss. I seem to remember from i-club that an optomistic power figure at the wheels was 170. Not tryin to flame ya or anything, just beg to differ:) Super Spec V 06-05-2002, 02:05 PM This is the last of arguing for me. 1. Im not 13 and under 30. 2. Dont tell me that i dont know anything about cars or modifications. When i went to the track with my rex i ran c12 fuel with the fuel pressure up 2lbs/hour....and the car ran 13.78@98Mph (i dont care if you dont belive me) 4. ldelaysionl thanks for keepin with me on this one. These guys will never know the REX like we do. 5. I do know how to spell...that error you seen is a simple typing error. its the kind of error that happens when you dont look at the keyboard when you type....unlike yourself...who has to look at the keyboard before spelling any word, and then look up at the screen to make sure it's ok.HAHA 6. Not calling any one a liar or anything *Sprays down the flames before they start* you say on c12 gas, was this with EVERYTHING stock on the car? No bleed valves or such? And say, why don't you help me out with my apex'i thread, you must know these things from playing with that grs moter. I've almost got it but I'm a stickler for perfection:mad:  LjasonL 06-05-2002, 02:31 PM Originally posted by Gonthrax I donno bro, a friend of mine (same one who I just installed Apex'i electronics for) bought one, it was te first time he had ever driven a stick, and was able to drive it off the lot with no stalling. Not tryin to flame ya or anything, just beg to differ:) my bad, i said stalling, i meant to say bogging. its hard to get that car off the line without bogging it down. u can rev to redline and drop the clutch, and it will bog. slipping the clutch just right will keep it from bogging, but its slow like that. Ahh, ok yea I agree. Even if you dump from redline and floor it it still bogs... Not that I've tried it or anything *Washes his hands of the situation quickly* S Brake 06-05-2002, 11:16 PM there is no way a stock wrx can do 13's. a friend of mine has a highly modified one that has around 300 hp and soon to be 350. the best hes done is low 13's. 227hp won't get you through the 1/4 mile that fast. Super Spec V 06-06-2002, 07:23 AM Gonthrax...wasup man? Ok...when i ran the 13.7 i had cat back 3", bov and cold air intake on c12 fuel. I launched the car @6000rpm and did the double clutch thing that wee discussed in a previous thread. As for the apexi i module...i have never touched one before, but would be glad to help if i can see some instructions or documentations about it. Trust m bro...im not lying about the 13 sec pass...2 years ago when i had my 2.5 rs and a 50 shot of nos i was able to get the car to run 14.3. no exhaust, no cai, nothing only a dry 50 shot. So my rex is more than capable of running 13's, ecause it feels way faster than my 2.5 with juice. If you want PM me on what you have tried on the apexi i and well try to figure it out. That makes sense, but then agian to me it doesn't. I'm just doing the math in my and thinking "How can that car possibly do it?" Does any one know the drag coif on them? Sorry...dont wanna be a prick...just tellin ya;) merc50 07-23-2002, 08:39 PM Hmmm, I really kicked around buying a WRX but by the time I put all the little extras and such on it the price was getting way into the 30's and I was not gonna pay that for the car...just me. It was a hoot to drive. Very quick and a threat on the local streets. That being said, I have mucked about against them a little and taken them in my car...but they were freaking on me the whole way. I really cant explain this, I know the BMW's are really awsome cars...but they do nothing for me at all (except the Z8). Its just a taste thing. My vote is the WRX. The car I want to see it go up against is that hot rod Neon when it shows...I wanna see if the Dodge boys really can make the fastest cars in all ranges. I think the WRX is the one they are aiming for in the 4 banger catagory...its kind of the king right not. I also like the new look...I like it better than the older ones. Anyhows, thanks for letting me play:flash: Chris 07-24-2002, 10:15 PM I prefer the looks of the old one, personally. I feel that the new Neon SRT wont be able to compete handling-wise, as it is front wheel drive. It will never be able to turn well. merc50 07-25-2002, 12:04 AM Hmmmm, I thought maybe the hot rod Neon had AWD in its future? Didnt I read that someplace...maybe not and my head is making it up. I was thinking it was some shared platform from someplace that the new one was going to be built on. You are right though, but straight line I bet it might be pretty good...and to be honest I think the "Fast and the Furious" crowd is who they are aiming at and turning is not a real premium with many of those guys...typical USA 1/4 mile outlook. I have no problem with that...but many "true" import and sports car fans look beyond that...but that really is a small group. Me, Im still a straight line kind of guy but I like the sports car thing. I mean, come on...I love it when some yo yo starts talking about how great a car handles when he really has no idea because he has never been on a track and only thinks he can drive. Hell, Ill admit on a closed track with the twisty stuff I am eating pylons. I'll never take full advantage of the upgrades the factory put on my car.
