This one is running me in circles. Firstnoff, she's got no power to pull a hill. Check engine light flashes. Reading codes i get missfire on cylinders 1 and 4. After cleaning and jockying plugs, she runs smooth until pulling a steep grade. Now the code reads 0300 for multiple misses. Also, each time I check codes, it reads 1406 for the EGR valve input high. Will missing cause the EGR to malfunction, or vice verse? Any help on where to go with fixing this would be helpful. THX

Swap the coil (cheap). If that doesn't work. Then it's the ignition module located below the coil pack. As far as the EGR, its probably dirty, unbolt it, clean it, slap a new gasket on it.

thanks for your input, Mark. Now I got another dillema...how do I get the carbon build up out of that egr? My book says no chemicals, but I tried B-12 anyway and that ain't gettin' it done. Thanks for your help...again.

Checked the coils with my ohm meter. The 1/4 coil is definitely open. Tried brake parts cleaner and that didn't disolve the carbon deposits either...Thanks for the help, gentlemen. I love this car...I'll be keeping it in excellent shape.

The 1/4 coil was open. replaced it and runs sweet again. No egr problem...Away we go!!!
