Rear Window Defrost does not work

Removed the plugs from the grid on the rear window. Put a volt meter across the lines and hit the switch. Receive 14.2 across the terminals when the engine is running and 12.5 with the engine off. So that tells me that the defog switch is operational.

How do I troubleshoot the grid in the window, or tell me if you all suspect something else is wrong.

Thanks so much!

check the voltage while the plugs are connected. a bad contact in the relay would cause a voltage to appear while there is no load, but a load would make it drop.

Also, be sure that the connector going to the window is well glued to the window. sometime they break from it... If it did indeed break, use the apropriate specialised glue. yes, it's expensive for 2 drops, but no other glue would work! I'm sure I could have found it cheaper, but the local store sold it 15$ for the 3-4 drops that it contained (need about 1 drop per connector)

If you have voltage there, check for broken heating wire in the window...
