dont really no the set up but looking at the replacement parts it looks
like they may use a quick connect.by squeezing in the 2 tabs on the
connector will release hose.
what set up do you have??

I believe the part you are referring to are the coolant bypass elbows. If so, they are accessed by removing the serpentine belt tensioner (which requires removing the alternator as well). Btw there are two different elbows, the one coming from the intake to the tensioner is a 90 degree with matching sized ends, the other one attaches near the bottom rear of the tensioner and is also a 90 degree but one end is larger than the other so make sure you have both before proceeding because they will break when the tensioner is removed. Good Luck!

You don't need a special tool to remove these particular fittings. You have to remove the tensioner to replace them. I found a link to a post outlining the replacement procedure. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t915511.html
