91 Accord Ex = VTEC ?91accord91 03-19-2001, 02:49 AM Does anyone know if a 91 Accord Ex engine has VTEC or not? I'm just wondering? I was on Honda's site and they don't have anything on Accords before 1995. Thanx for any info. justin@af 03-19-2001, 11:44 PM I don't think honda had the vtec until '92 but i could be wrong about that...can someone back me up? Kodiak Ice 03-20-2001, 07:19 AM first vtec for accords started with the 5th generation EX models sohcpower 03-20-2001, 10:12 AM Originally posted by Kodiak Ice first vtec for accords started with the 5th generation EX models :smoker2: I'm backin' him up on that one. JD@af 03-20-2001, 12:15 PM The first VTEC Accord was in 1994. It was the Accord EX with the F22B1 engine. I believe that all the F22A-series engines (which all of the fourth generation Accords have) are non-VTEC. justin@af 03-20-2001, 06:33 PM when i said 92 i meant 93 b/c isn't that when honda came out with vtec for the prelude?? d0qtrx 04-17-2002, 10:55 AM The '91 accord EX is NOT VTEC. exr90 04-20-2002, 05:50 PM Originally posted by justin@af when i said 92 i meant 93 b/c isn't that when honda came out with vtec for the prelude?? the 4th gen accords [90-93] were all kept basically the same [lx=125hp to se=140hp engines, i'm pretty sure about this] then in the 5th gens [94-97] they introduced V-TEC to the ACCORD, you are right they did have V-TEC[h22a engine] for the 92-97 Prelude SR-V (Canadian) hondaman-iac 04-21-2002, 07:06 PM thje accords were never vtec untill 94 with the ex. and the h22 apperared in 94 in the preludes. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
