Camry won't start
joevit 01-08-2011, 08:41 PM 2002 camry v6. Daughter was driving around all night and when I went out to go to the store, it wouldn't start. There is no clicking like the battery is dead. Just nothing. All electrical works. Is there someting with the security system that needs to be cleared? Any help would be appreciated. danielsatur 01-08-2011, 08:43 PM 1) Can you turn the front head lights on bright and honk the horn? If not, the battery needs a charge and load tested. 2) Is this the origninal battery for this car? joevit 01-08-2011, 09:07 PM Full power when I turn the headlights on bright and the horn works fine. Any more suggestions? danielsatur 01-08-2011, 09:20 PM Did you try another key for the ignition switch? joevit 01-08-2011, 09:23 PM There is no click click. Just nothing no sound when I turn the key on. danielsatur 01-08-2011, 09:30 PM I thinking a bad starter solenode, battery connection going to the starter, or a bad ignition switch. joevit 01-08-2011, 09:57 PM tried another key same thing danielsatur 01-08-2011, 10:05 PM tried another key same thing I guess it's not the encrypted key! joevit 01-08-2011, 10:16 PM So any other suggestions? danielsatur 01-08-2011, 10:20 PM I thinking a bad starter solenode, battery connection going to the starter, or a bad ignition switch. Is this car at your house? You might consider a mobile Auto technician. joevit 01-08-2011, 10:34 PM Car is at home. What is a moble car technician? gspservice 01-08-2011, 10:38 PM So any other suggestions? You might try tapping the starter sometime this frees it up.. joevit 01-08-2011, 10:51 PM I'll try that in the morning. Thanks. joevit 01-09-2011, 07:12 AM Where is the starter located on a camry w/ V6 engine? danielsatur 01-09-2011, 02:25 PM Trace the red postive cable going from the battery to the starter. If you need a picture, see http://www.autopartwarehouse.com Lightly tap the starter solenode with a butt of a screw driver. A starter solenode works like a relay switch, it allows a small current to enable a large current device to turn on. danielsatur 01-10-2011, 07:47 PM Did you get your car fixed yet?
