Well going to the city, i figured out why the owner said it overheated yesterday. Radiator cracked down the plastic seam on the right side. Is it easy to remove the radiator and put a new one ion? Do anyone know what a radiator is going to cost from a junkyard? Please help i need to get this car done and fixed before the 13th so my girlfriend can use it for her drivers test.

Hi, Yes its not that bad removing the radiador from these cars. First, Grand Am's have a tendency to crack at the left top part of the plastic tank (drivers side). I had to go though three cars at the junk yard to find a good one. I also started putting JB weld over that spot before it cracks to give it some more strength.
To take out the rad. you need to take the 10mm screw out for the fan, unplug the wire to the fan, pull it out. take the hoses off at the sides and top. take the two 10mm screws off the brackets and remove them. you will also have two (i think 8mm) screws holding the a/c cond. to the rad. ( behind the headlights) and one at the top holding the alum. a/c line. The a/c con. as two pins at the bottom that it sits in. you need to pull it up alittle and then pull the rad out once its loose. If you have the V6 I sometimes put a jack with wood on it under the oil pan and take the top motor mount off. if you jack it a LITTLE it will give you a little more room. Be CAREFUL not to much to crack the oil pan. Good luck! Hopes this helps!
