Coolant leak Grand Am GT

I am in the process of a complete upper gasket change on my 99 grand am gt. I discovered a leak under the tstat housing. As I investigated further, I have come to find that on the LIM at the bottom of the "V" shape, only about 2" long, there is only a bead of RTV sealing it. Per Haynes and other mechanics. This is a major design flaw. Any suggestions on something really good to use for that?

Unfortunately your only recourse is to use RTV to seal it. Make sure you use the black RTV as it is O2 sensor friendly. Don't overdo it either too much can be worse than not enough.
