Trying to help my father with his 2005 Bonne SE 3.8L 33,000 miles with the Auto HVAC system. HVAC system doesn't seem to be working in auto.

At the same time he has an issue with a stuck needle for the speedometer.

After reading AllData for 2000-2005 Bonne's it looks like the auto HVAC control system interfaces with what AllData calls an Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM)

There's no location for this module. Is this module part of the Instrument cluster itself?

I'm familiar with GM W Bodies, but this car has a lot of modules, and I'm wondering if sending the instrument cluster out to address the stuck intermittantly wrong speed would also address the heat issue.

I'm looking at electrical drawings from Alldata, but I can't find this Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM).

Any Idea's- Thanks and Happy Holidays.

I don't believe that is integrated in the cluster, call the cluster repair facility and ask them, also google that part see what you find.

It turns out that the speedometer cluster was in Metric units instead of MPH and miles.

Dad took it to a shop and the owner noticed the issue right away since the car was just in for an oil change at 38,000 miles and it showed what appreared to be 62,000 miles.

Apparently there's some procedure with pressing the diagnostic center button on the dashboard that was able to reset this to miles.

Temperature now works well, leading me to believe that the instrument cluster does communicate some information with the heater control module.

Back to the Olds Intrigue forum where I hang out, until someday, if/when I end up with this Bonneville.

Merry Christmas to everyone-
